18:41 This type of prison is actually called a "Panopticon", and has it's roots going all the way back to as early as 1791. The design was intended to maximize the guard:prisoner ratio, as well as give prisoners the idea that they could be watched and seen at any time. Just a fun fact for you, thanks for the satisfactory videos!

Having the belts in your control room to view the uranium and nuclear waste is going to make that spot somewhat radioactive, won't it? I'd love to see Coffee Stain add something like lead-lined walls and windows, that contain radiation so you can make your factories safe but also good looking.
@Lokolopes7

The reason the blueprints don't connect perfectly is because the light support detail is sticking a bit out of the blueprint's "silhouette", so when you try to connect them the system shifts the platforms a bit so it isn't clipping into the other blueprint's area. I've had this issue with outlets in the past. You can work around this by moving the lighting details a bit to the inside of the tunnel so it stays within the area of the blueprint.

For better efficiency you could split the plant into cells that you can turn on and off, so if you're only consuming 10000MW in the max use case and you're making 30000MW then you can turn off the other 20000MW
@PewPewCricket
@PewPewCricket 6 күн бұрын
This would also cut back on waste generation when it's not needed, and you could inky have 1 cell on when starting the rest of the plant which won't consume so many resources making it easier to black start

Pretty much all nuclear power plants IRL have a "spent fuel pool" where they store uranium fuel rods that were recently removed from the reactor until they're ready to put into dry storage. I think it would be a cool idea to have the nuclear waste storage nearer to the ocean so that it looks like a spent fuel pool- But I guess it depends on if there's enough space in the water for that kind of thing. Also PLEASE get at least the basic outline for your plutonium processing done before turning on the uranium part of the power plant. It doesn't have to be 100% done before you turn on uranium, but you don't want a situation where uranium waste builds up in storage before plutonium is ready and shuts down your entire power grid.

I can't believe Coffee Stain never created a batch delete function. Considering how prevalent "this whole thing doesn't work. I need to redo it" is in this game, just being able to mark out a 3d square and blow it all away like the Area Actions mod is kinda crucial. I know I actively refused several rebuilds for that very reason. Didn't want to spend hours deleting my existing plant (I was playing mod free in my 1.0 playthrough).

Something im doing in my word is making one product (such as fuel rods) and confirmingt that its at the right rate, then next step use some fuel rods to build up 100k ish nuclear waste and use that to test plutonium set up and nuclear set's water, same with with plutonium waste and then test ficsonium. this ensures that you dont turn on 3 big factories and once and can tourbleshoot along the way Edit: Also make sure to have roughly 50k fuel rods stored up for initial power on for the conveyer belt buffers and power plant buffers, itll also allow the next step to function at full capacity immediately. Do this with EVERY component, from the iron ore to the ingots to the same to the quickwire. EVERY component needs 1 bin minimum becayse your overflows MUST be full as quickly as possible, storing and dumping at a higher rate than production is a life saver
@phuzz00
@phuzz00 7 күн бұрын
That's kind of how I did it. If I needed (eg) 600 iron plates, I made sure I was producing ~620, everything is over supplied. Then I set up the uranium fuel rod factory, started the uranium flowing, and then while I spent (many) hours setting up the U waste > Pu fuel conversion, my factory built up a nice stockpile of U fuel. Once I was confident it would work, I finally started building the nuclear plants. (Then I fixed all the little problems I'd not noticed until then). Next step will be to set up a Pu waste > Ficsonium fuel factory, but honestly just 40 reactors running on uranium is more than enough power, and I'm fed up of that area, so I'm working on other factories right now. For now the Pu fuel rods are stockpiling, and will go to a sink once they overflow. Theoretically I can leave it indefinitely as it is.

7:04 this angle looks like the planetary computer from Hitchhiker's Guide lol. Kinda. 12:13 I think you should bury the nuclear plant so it's hidden from the outside, let it's exhaust come from the building itself (also put some on top). 23:04 I feel like I'm in a Spacey Sprockets factory now from the Jetsons' lol.
