Nice comparison. Might pick up a set of these LZRs. If you check the RSSI bars at 2000ft, the LZR patch DVR has a significantly longer bar. The other test you can do is don't use two LZRs. Use one of those and one of the comparison antenna. I believe the upper SMA of the Rapidfire corresponds with the upper RSSI bar. You can check by waving your hand in front of the antenna while flying to see which one drops. I did this with a classic 8db spironet patch versus some ORT Dual Shield patches and it's very clear on the DVR that the spironet is way better than the ORT Dual Shield patch.

That's actually a great idea - using the 8dB spironet on one port and a single LZR on the other for comparison. You've got me thinking now... You are right, the bar on top corresponds to the upper sma. Is your test on KZbin somewhere? Got a link? I'd like to check it out if it is. Honestly, I'm not completely sold on the double patch setup. Part of the sales pitch is they say you can use the bars to steer your antenna beams and track your quad. That's true, and it works well, but the simple fact that crossfire gives you those indicator bars allows you to aim a single patch just as well. I've ended up switching over to using an Axii in combination with a 13.5dB sniper antenna. It works as well as the double patch setup, I can aim the beam just as easily, and it's much lighter on the face. Been out 2.1 miles with that setup.

The purpose of this test was how far can you go. You stopped at the same distance so thank you for wasting my time...

The video didn’t work out like I had hoped, but I still believe the content has some use, and that’s why it’s published. Take it for face value, brother. Thanks for the feedback!
