Nepali is one of the 22 8th schedule language.Even the country's most prestigious exam upsc can be written in nepali language.I am proud of my community.It is complete mockery of constitution to intact a immigrant tag to our community.

We have only three communities in Sikkim i.e bhutia, Lepcha and Nepali. We have to remain United and support each other as we are moving from majority to minority due to heavy infux. Floating population of sikkim is approx 21 lakh bt actual is only about 6- 7 lakh. If we don't remain United we may loose our right.

R C Paudyal, the great soul for sikkimese peoples. Whether the Bhutia,Lepcha and Nepali, all are Sikkimese, but it is unfortunate the community of royal family become tribal, but Nepali become General, In Sikkim the ST Community only Bhutias are banned to sell their land to Nepali, but whereas the lepchas are exclude for so. The SC are minority than ST but there is no banned for sell the land for SC. It is not fair law, the land of SC community should be banned for sell Sikkim is for Sikkimese, not only for Bhutias or for Nepali it should be a complete Tribal state

@Cat Jam but, limbu do exist, the term Sikkim was derieved from limbu word Sukhim which means new home and Limbu being as ST are also exclude from buying land of Bhutias. Fell our pain, Limbu being original inhabitants of Sikkim aren't recognize, but knows as nepali.

@Cat Jam Indeed, most of limbu's think about nepali as their mother language which isn't. But the still a lot of people in Sikkim are trying to preserve it. That why my dad told me to take limbu as 2nd language in school and my 4 year cousin took language as 2nd language in school as diminshing of limbu culture and tradition. Hope we try our best not to mix with nepali culture in Sikkim itself and try be as Limbu/Limboo/Subba of Sikkim, not nepali and preserve this long tradition.

@Cat Jam you are talking too much in a topic which you are not even probably part of and besides khas (indo-aryan) people other nepali community people have their own own language and they all are struggling to maintain their cultural identity with rapid growth of globalization and the generalization of the entire nepali community and their is a reason why its called a community ok
