We hear these terms all the time. Migrant. Refugee. Asylum seeker. Immigrant. What’s the difference? Let’s break it down.
A migrant is a person moving from country to country for any number of reasons - better life, better job, more opportunities.
An immigrant is someone who moved to another country and has established residency legally or illegally.
Then there are refugees and asylum seekers. They both seek protection because they fear persecution based on a number of factors, including race, religion, membership in a particular social group, or political opinion.
But the process of how they get protection differs. Refugees must apply from overseas and have to be vetted and approved before traveling to the United States.
Asylum seekers are people who are already in the US or at the border. They must apply for protection within one year of arriving.
Whether you are a migrant, refugee, immigrant or asylum seeker, it can take years to get legal status in America.

I personally prefer the phrases immigrant and migrant. As opposed to legal immigrant and illegal immigrant. Because I feel like it’s easy to mishear “legal” as “illegal” and vice versa.

Most economic migrants think they can apply for asylum , and the UN encourages people who are poor or no work to apply . This is a misuse of asylum , and also all refugees refuse to accept that as refugees they are expected to go home in the future . Then there is a major problem that a very large percentage of asylum seekers do not integrate and accept countries , customs, culture and laws . Another problem in many countries who have accepted asylum seekers have seen a massive increase in crime and violence . A major problem in the EU is that there are 95 million citizens living in poverty who should get help first , and this is not the case !!!!!!!

Best what they can do for asylum seekers and illegal immigrants are START a company UK/US/CANADA/AUS call center OUTSOURCED Projects, in Rwanda for black community and give them 5 years contract job and send them there as employees and give them salary range of Rwanda, so they can peacefully live and work there as UK/US/CANADA/AUS ASY-employees on work permit. START a company UK/US/CANADA/AUS call center OUTSOURCED Projects, in Mauritius( half French land) for white community and give them 5 years contract job and send them there as employees and give them salary range of Mauritius, so they can peacefully live and work there as UK/US/CANADA/AUS ASY-employees on work permit. PROBLEM SOLVED ( they will feel safe working as an outsourced employees for west companies as call center agents) Both are benefitted out of this and there is NO loss for anyone. If they like it there, they can work there or they can move to other place after 5 years.

Immigrant is an migrant that intends to remain in a different country. Migrants travel to various countries. Several immigrants in the US illegally were migrants in Mexico.

Uh, no. They’re illegal ALIENS. They have no legal means of becoming citizens or even legal permanent residents in the country.

It was late evening, and the ripples of a quiet sea were flooded with moonlight. Asylum- seeking Ja-mae, who had been pushed back and forth at the border of Turkey and Greece, half dead with hunger and cold, was biting the bullet and attempting the sea crossing from Turkey to the Greek islands in an attmept to reach Europe in vain. She had been drifting about the ocean for months, because both Turkey and Greece had turned a blind eye to the poor woman , by forcing her far out into the sea. Poor Jamae ! she had been keeping pushed back by the police officers from both nations, previously pushed back by 횽아 at home, the reason for her asylum-seeking. 😥 Luckily enough she had never rowed herself; the fair wind had done two thirds of all the rowing up until then.. But what would become of her? It would take her years to get legal status probably in any countries.

So, the majority of those being treated as asylum seekers by the US government are immigrants attempting to circumvent the legal process.

When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the LORD shall lift up a standard against him." (Isaiah 59:19). , , ,.,. ,
