Taxpayers worked 161 days for HMRC this year. The 10th of June is the first day they start working for themselves. UK needs to shake off free-loaders, also the ones with UK passports because working has less and less sense. Why no one talks about that? 26% of annual budget goes on covering costs of debt and they still go deeper in that madness. Human rights? People lose almost 50% of what they have worked for, this is slavery.

Simply, leave to remain needs to be adjusted to being granted after 15 years here, not 5 years. Immigration should be a privilege, granted to those proving their worth to our country. Illegal migration needs to be treated as that, illegal. Asylum should only be granted to people of origin from immediately neighbouring countries to the UK to preserve cultural integrity.

If they are fleeing their country then the adjacent countries should suffice. If they throw away there passport or don’t say where they are from then they should be offshored to somewhere like ‘Devil’s Island‘ until their home country can be established and returned. IF, like Syria then migrants can be given temporary visas for 5, 10, 15 years, then returned along with any subsequent family. They should only be allowed to stay if the government want to change the demographics of this country.

Have a Bill of Rights that list Rights and Obligations for Citizens. Asylum only temporary with no route to citizenship, no family reunions, reviewed each year, and requires proof of your identity and a signed declaration that you agree to return a specific country when you are told to leave. And Asylum should be a very rare occurrence - any assistance we give should be as close as possible to source, NOT an automatic right for anyone to travel from anywhere the world 'because they want the UK'.

@GeorgiaMartin-ll9qg18 күн бұрын
I agree but it’s not only that we’re just a tiny island. People make it seem as if America was built on immigration from anywhere and from a constant stream of it which couldn’t be further from the truth. Until recently America was made up of nearly only European immigrants. It meant they were all Christian which meant they had similar laws and much more. America also went through several periods with nearly no immigration. America in 1950s was very tight knit because they closed their border about 30 years before that. People had lots of kids. Non-European immigrantion essentially only started in the 1970s, after the 1965 immigration act allowed for non-European immigration.

A good lesson here. For every action there is a reaction. In effect Blair and Cameron, pro EU politicians caused Brexit. The current politicians need to consider what will be the reaction to their current actions of not resolving the number 1 issue for the electorate.
@theoutsider619117 күн бұрын
Part of the problem of things Governmental, is that when you start a department or team you create a vested interest group within the framework of government which results in cottage industries. In the case of illegal migration there is a cottage industry created around it, from admin staff, to lawyers, to government officials, security teams, support services, all funded by Gov contracts which run into the billions for this issue. Not a lot of these people will want the problem to be fixed as it means the end of their contracts and the lucrative public funding. This is not unique to the UK or illegal migration. In San Fransisco they have a massive homlessness problem and their cottage industry around it has cost more and more each year to the tax payers, yet with increased costs the homlessness has increased rather than decreased..... seems somewhat familiar to the UK border problem, doesn't it?

All very well, having data, but they are still letting people in and dishing out British and Irish passports left right and centre, which must surely circumvent the system? No benefits or repay benefits (like students have to repay student loans), plus they should be taxed more, so they have to pay more into the system. And no British or Irish passport for 10-15 years. And their children do not automatically become UK citizens just because they are born in the UK unless the parents become UK citizens. It should be made very difficult and a privilege to get UK citizenship. What about the Human Rights of UK citizens?

I’m not so convinced that politicians are the problem. Yea give us policies to fix the problems, but, we need a media that can( has the money) and dose do the work of fact checking and contextualising all this stuff. England put this fourth estate stuff in place for a good reason. It was the fourth leg in a working democracy to have a well run media. Don’t blame politicians blame the the people who read and convey the rules, fact checking stuff and contextualise it all. Media, truly have so much to answer for and should be held accountable like any part of the wheels of our democracy.
