Loved it! Imminence to me is if Apocalyptica made Metalcore. Love to see current bands start having Evanescence influence in Metalcore as I think they were likely inspired by them.

Not a huge fan of deluxe albums, but I've been relistening to this track a lot. So I'm happy we're getting it anyways. This is one of those bands I'm super interested in seeing how they develop!

I think it's good they keep their style, and it's okay the song structure stays simple, verse/chorus, it just makes you be more comfortable with what you expect to hear.

it's good if you absolutely love the style, if not then repeating the same formula may not be so good. but good is subjective so to each their own. for me, like i mentioned, if their next full length follows then i probably also won't do revisiting as happened to me with Heaven In Hiding. it's not a matter of dislike so much as not creating a lasting impact and not being able to distinguish non-singles from each other that stuck with me very much.

I have a poll on twitter right now for which song to post first and Sleep Token is winning, so if that is how it plays out it'll be my next video after that. the video, I wasn't really keen on tbh, I think there's a message there regarding technology and stuff but I do feel a bit like AI videos are a cop out and there's a lot of controversy around them. the song itself, I would rank right under Wildlife for me. though I don't think we're moving in the direction where I'll enjoy this album more than PII. that's top tier for me. I don't feel it so much, but can still understand what you mean by trying too hard to be creative and how that would be interpreted. it makes sense to me. it's quite interesting to see where everything lands for all of us

I am very hit or miss with bands using a repetitive formula. it usually comes down to if I like the style enough to enjoy some repetition. with imminence I don’t mind the predictability mostly cause this style of music is very up my alley. it’s dark, melodic, you can’t go wrong with a violin in metal and his voice always sucks me in. it’s rare that I like a repetitive formula so I completely understand how you feel about it. maybe another listen will change your mind but if it doesn’t, that’s perfectly fine! i’ve gone back and re-listened to bands before with a similar pattern and it just doesn’t hit me. will be interested what they intend to do in the future!

i’ll give it another listen some time soon! it’s a good point. also mindset when listening to an album at one point can be a factor for me. if i’m not feeling very receptive or am in a bad mood, that sort of thing if it makes sense. always good to give something another shot.

@@RachelleReacts oh that 100% makes sense cause it’s the same for me too. sometimes when I go through that it’s hard for me to even try and go back for another listen cause depending on my mood or maybe a bad situation i’m going thru at the time, I usually associate it with that mood or situation.

I never actually gave their last album a listen after hearing bad reviews. I did really like their singles for it though. I liked this track mostly, maybe wasn't a fan of the verse that was spoken word/whispered. Breakdown and chorus were really nice but overall probably won't revisit though.
