What he does. He scans the VIN number via the ODB2, then he deletes the VIN from the ECU. Engine will start. Warning, keep a copy of your VIN number before you delete it, write it down so that you can enter it back into the ECU via the ODB2 if you need to later. If your ODB2 Scanner will let you, you might be able to just turn off the immobiliser on screen. But if you are in a jam and need to get home, put a pice of wire from the + of the battery to the wiper or indicators or heater fuse, the ignition will come on, then push start it or run a wire from battery+ and touch on the small connection on the back of the starter till it starts. get you home.

Yup, his "I can't reveal" is some bullshit thing in my industry. I'll tell anyone how to remove it. Problem is nobody gonna spend the required time of doing it. Especially a fucking thief lol a car jacket ain't gonna sit there for 5 hours depinning an ECU & manually resoldering microchip off lol car thiefs know how to steal cars they don't need KZbin. People can't afford the expensive route & I'm sick of these mechanics bullshit trade secret shit when it's not. There's several ways, unfortunately the easy ways cost money and free ones take some know how but 200 bucks will fix it. Tell locksmith you need key programming and Vin programmed to new ECU. Takes 5 minutes & it's worth it. K just don't wanna type all the pinouts & steps lol it's a lot. But anyone struggling reading this just know I started my career pulling a ECU outta civic & successfully destroyed it and successfully bought new one & 150 was all everything cost. @@SpeedTweaks still need key you dumb ass or steering locks up that's the whole point why these fool mechanics say "I can't reveal" because it's really simple & they are just as bad as dealership. A thief only steals a car if it's readily available like keys or it's easy to steal. But this method requires ignition key to unlock column so it don't lock & time which no their is gonna spend because it requires entering vehicle opening hood & running wires thats high visibility to them. That's why cat converters are stolen because low & hidden. Bottom line is that it's very simple & people don't have shit ton of money this can cost and in an emergency it's your vehicle you shouldn't be prohibited by malfunctioning equipment that's not optional but put in regardless.

Worked for me, thanks a million man! I've been going crazy pulling my hair out and firing the parts canon. Replaced fuel pump because I'm pretty sure I needed to do that anyway, replaced crank sensor I'm pretty sure needlessly, was about to consider replacing injectors once I discovered they weren't firing. Spent some time and money I didn't need to, I didn't even know a 98 Honda had an RFID key system. Spent 10 minutes this morning to pull the ECU and pop that sucker off the board and my car started on the first try!

They changed the immobilizer design in 2003, but they had an immo 5 years prior. I have the immo chip from the ECU set in an epoxy pendant that currently hangs from my rearview mirror lol. I mean, what do you suggest the chip that I removed from my computer that was immobilizing my car is if not an immobilizer? '98 was the first year Honda used transponder keys. There's an "immobilizer receiver unit" around the ignition that broadcasts a signal that powers the RFID chip in the key fob (or a battery in the fob, can't remember which but I'm pretty sure there is no battery) which in turn broadcasts a code that is read by the immobilizer receiver coil and passed to the ECU. The ECU will not power the fuel injectors until it confirms that code with the immobilizer chip (or if you rip the immo chip out of the ECU). A 5-second Google search would've served you well (and saved me the tedium of replying to a lazy lie), but as it is, there, I Googled it for you (for free!) including the Honda part number. Google "39730-S84-A0" and tell me what year models _Honda_ says it's for. I'll wait. You're welcome, btw. You're now wrong about one fewer thing. Next time, at the bare minimum put in the 5 seconds of effort to do some basic fact-checking _before_ calling someone a liar, please.

Thank you so much!! I did this on my Ferrari due to I have different ecu’s ( street and track) and when I swapped to the track ecu, I had issues a few hours after due to the imo. I live in a super safe city and it’s gated so no worries about theft. This worked great so now I can switch ecu’s when going to the track with issues

As i believe some where some how the ECU was reflashed replaced so when you reading it with the k-tag it identify different VIN. If you can hook a computer to it & make changes then you can most definitely turn shit off & on easily. Problem is most people don't have a 2K tool to access cars computer & manually is hard work & it could fuck your shit up right quick. You can pin out the ECU & physically remove ignition coil & the chips off the ECU by removing the chips. So why these "mechanics" never ever say how because of car thief's is horse shit because theirs aren't gonna spend hours depinning an ECU. And they don't have 2-4K for tool or up to 1,500 for reflashed ECU. Your no better than dealership because you giving people the information because "you gotta make money" is just as bad. There are people out there who literally can't survive without car & all you people say is "I can't reveal because of thiefs" is bullshit, anyone watching your channel obviously can't afford the expensive route.
