No they’re still around and the immortal even references them when he sees mark and said he thought the viltrumites left the galaxy. It’s also heavily implied that the future where immortal becomes insane is the actual future timeline and it’s unavoidable sinc immortal does end up becoming king of the earth in the last chapter.

The thing is…. Hero is such an inconsistent term. Anybody who brings change of does anything will be labeled as good by some and evil by others. Only true status quo hero like (conventional) Superman can be seen as “hero”…… And even then, as Black Adam stated “you are nothing but a glorified firefighter”. Trying to live up to the colossal weight of societal expectation and trying to appease EVERYONE to be a “hero”…. Is just unrealistic.

The best part about this chapter is it alludes to the future. Future Immortal questions Mark's appearance, saying that he thought him and his family left Earth for good (which they do). And Immortal was leader of Earth (because he was, with the plan being that Rex helps give advice on how to build a paradise with him). But this is a future where Dupli-Kate passes away cuz of how many years it has been, and Immortal's own heirs pick up Mark and request his help dealing with their living ancestor and tyrant, who only became one because he couldn't bear it any longer.

I don't think he ACTUALLY wanted to die. The immortals powers is kind of like reincarnation except he's brought back into the same body Everytime. In the ideology of reincarnation, you don't remember you past lives but can get glimpses of them. The Immortal when killed and brought back losses the majority of his memories from the past life. That's why he wants Invisible to kill him. So that he can have a soft reset of his brain

This is actually one of the major flaws in the comic storyline. The Immortal has been Earth's strongest being for over three thousand years. He was even the president of the USA. There is no reason for thr Immortal to lose his sanity here. He talks about the stress of ruling Earth ... bitch he was practically doing that for thousands of years. Also it seems to imply that the Immortal may be suffering dementia. However, his power makes him completely immune to dementia because his tissues can't die or breakdown. I hope they change this in the show because it comes across as something tragic just to be tragic rather being consistent with the character.

I feel like this has to be talked about more like how I feel like it was too inappropriate to just kill him in a situation like that. He wasn't putting nobody in danger, its just the fact that he was mentally suffering, and he needed somebody for mental stability, and you weren't being the kind of superhero that could mentally support. It takes a special hero. Mental health is something that people have been abusing. To be honest, he should have been able to save him mentally. It hurts me to say this, but I know a lot of people that have died or suffer from mental health issues. I've stopped people from killing themselves. This is the same thing as someone killing themselves. So now you're an accomplice to a suicide. You didn't save him. It's your job. You should be able to be a moral hero, too. It was immoral to kill him. You should have been regenerating his mental health and mental stability, bringing back memories because he couldn't remember no more. And he was losing good things to remember.

Costume is so important, man, just....just look at Immortal's crown! A dude doing this out of ego ("I'm the best, so I should rule") would've dressed to the nines. Well to answer your question, at the end of the comics Mark becomes the emperor of the viltrumite race and he takes every living viltrumite with him to go live on their new planet. In this timeline he must've left earth for good after all his mom and everyone he held dear are long gone.

Well we dont know for sure technically, he hasnt come back from these wounds but it would also just be because his regeneration factor slows down according to the damage hes been dealt. Since his power is not based on genetic but based on a curse its entirely possible he can come back from a single dead cell that hasnt been atomised, twould just take an impossibly long time to restore everything thus not letting him be conscious for a good portion of eternity

Its important to note that the author evidently had more work planned, but one of the reasons the immortal became insane was because Robot's brain had also lived for thousands of years and drove him insane in an attempt to take over. A much older Mark was set to return to earth and fix it. So obviously immortal who has already lived for thousands of years shouldnt have gone bonkers like he did. For example why bring Invincible from the past when he could just take a spaceship into a black hole (as contemplated by Omniman himself)
