We also yearn for a "soulmate" and the ability to fly like Superman (we've all had that dream and loved it), but that doesn't prove soulmates or flight. Grow up and recognize that just because you want something, that doesn't make it true.

While i agree, but what is being suggested here is there are some fundamental & near universal desires that point to something intrinsic within humans. Curiously, those two that you mentioned (along with immortality) hint at a desire for a form of transcendence (being more than & larger than ourselves). Indeed, the desire for a 'soulmate' also points to a connection to someone who completes us... who could be, as is suggested here.

Investing in younger people with all your heart so you are happy to leave is the real immortality.

Movies about immortality, Frankenstein, Dracula, the fountain of youth theme, mythology. Now we have androids or AI. Seems to me immorality is part of being human. I believe every culture has their own impression, right or wrong.

You really think that you would want an eternal unending life sentience? i think it would be just the opposite - the only way that true immortals could cope with the weight of such a sentience would be to forget that they were immortal from time to time.

I would. Whole universe out there to explore. Will take me an eternity to visit/explore. I don’t understand those that say it will be “boring”. Boredom, to me, is something that I control.

@@jorgealvarado7946 And what do you think will be out there ? Billions of suns and trillions of dead planets. Sounds like a nightmare to me. You may as well start counting from 1 to......well eternity. You will soon be longing for the end to come ( which it won't )

@@holdontoyourwig It’s not a question of what’s out there, more of the experience. To learn a new instrument, to master a skill….the “why” is usually not as meaningful as the journey. You might not agree, and that’s fine, the differences in opinion give our existence some zest.

I'll leave the gospel here:❤ How many lies have you told in your life? Have you ever taken anything that didn't belong to you? Have you ever used God's holy name to curse, would you do that with your mother's name? How many times have you held a grudge in your heart? Jusus said: Matthew 5:28 *_"but I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart."_* Have you ever done that? Only Jesus Christ lived a life worthy of Heaven. Substituting our sinful life for his is the only way to enter Heaven. 1. If we attempt to present our own righteousness to God the Father on the final day when we all stand before him. This will not work. *(We don't have any righteousness)* 2. Jesus has kindly offered to give us his righteousness as a free gift making us perfect and sinless in the sight of his Father. Ensuring a smooth transition to heaven on that final day. *(Choose this option.)* Romans 1:18-21 LSB - 18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, 19 because that which is known about God is evident within them; for God made it evident to them. 20 For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, both His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse. 21 For even though they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God or give thanks, but they became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish heart was darkened.

...why are you putting quotation marks on your own assertions? Evolution is an unguided process, so it does not purport to "offer" you anything in the first place.

There are only two persons in the New Testament who are spoken of as interceding for us from heaven. God the Spirit. Romans 8:26-28 ESV - Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words. 27 And he who searches hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God. 28 And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose. God the Son. Romans 8:34 ESV - Who is to condemn? Christ Jesus is the one who died-more than that, who was raised-who is at the right hand of God, who indeed is interceding for us.
