can we input the initial velocity and mass for the impact?
@arsitech-ltd Жыл бұрын
Yes sure. I suggest to perform analysis in Abaqus..there options are very clear.

Dear SimTech05! Thank you for this tutorial. I don't use Hypermesh, but does this mean that only axial direction (120mm displacement) is applied to the coupling node? When I apply only axial direction, the coupling node goes out of control, so I had to constrain the rest of the orthogonal directions. My reaction force is low (in ABAQUS) as compare to your tutorial, not sure if this is because of the different material modeling. Please advice is highly appreciated, thank you!

Dear, If you considered same dimensions of crash box and same material parameters (however material model is different as you mention), reaction force difference should not be that much large. Make sure you provide output request on coupling node in Abaqus.

how do we know the mesh was converged in explicit, which factors we need to consider, (rebound time, internal energy, KE)??
@arsitech-ltd3 жыл бұрын
Dear, I suggest you to follow explicit analysis videos in Abaqus dynamic playlist. I explained explicit theory briefly there.
