I saw Tawan Davis' earlier Forbes interview a few months ago which was awesome as well. He and the team at Steinbridge are unlocking value the right way, and I applaud their success and the success of their stakeholders.

Thank you Mr. Tawan Davis for impact investing, especially around Virginia Union! This is very important that HBCU is given a portion of the revenue. My HBCU is Jackson State University. I am a Mississippian. Thank you Mr. Jabari Young for interviewing Mr. Tawan Davis!

Wow. The Steinbridge firms mission seems like a full circle moment of what his grandmother started nearly one hundred years ago. He mentioned that she purchased homes to bring a housing solution to meet the need of visitors and black folk in general at the time. Through socially geared impact real estate investments, hes doing the same thing all these years later. Amazing.

This is true even now. I saved it to my playlist months ago. I would also add yes he's correct about ownership being needed due to constant gentrification. I'm tired of seeing generations of families uprooted because they're on social welfare programs. I want more fair housing in the home ownship area too. Like if they move people from the projects to the suburbs again, I want them to pay a monthly affordable rate towards ownership so that the next time people want to do a development where they live, they'll have to fight for it & the people won't 'have' to move & be given 'vouchers' to get out the way. I'm also super big on sustainability & sustainable communities. Realistically, the best design for most communities, rental or HOA housing is to have community gardens designed inside of all. This is great for residents & helps on cost, has a lot of positive mental aspects & is good for health...esp. in a time where our transportation in the food (agriculture) supply chain is broken. Great segment tho! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Thank for this video. Being in education of the black person, we have always been able to get in but the topic of when you get a million dollar property, are you doing what it takes to increase its value without believing it will take care of itself and won't deteriorate. If you purchase something at its peak value, you have to maintain its upkeep until the cycle repeats. Even the renters don't value the property. When more people who think like they do move in, they have the nerve to want to move but not all renters are this way. Generational wealth comes from taking care of not getting!!!
