Both schools are in I think the top 2 iirc (at least the last time I looked) in revenue brought in for football...although, atms numbers were proven to be fudged a few years back when they claimed #1, so I would assume a bit of fudging is still going on. Atm has a history of doing that. Look it up if you don't believe me. They have claimed national titles that never existed and more. But either way, 2 HUGE programs financially. And they are both competing for the state of Texas, which in itself is huge. But as far as the rivalry itself? We usually just slap them around. There is a reason they are called little brother. And not just by us. 🤣

Regardless of who you like, these two teams will be perennial championship contenders. They both have a lot of money, huge alumni bases and fan bases. OU and LSU will start to fall off while these two just get better and more successful

All of these points are spot on about a&m, but Texas' biggest rival Is OU by a freakin mile. Their OSU/Michigan game is the red River rivalry. A&M will ALWAYS be a rival, but thats much more of a 1 sided rivalry where the aggies hate texas and Texas is like 🤷🏻‍♂️

The Texas-Texas A&M rivalry can be huge, if both schools embrace the rivalry. But there has been some talk about not revising the Thankgiving Day game day or game night for future games.

@@AliensAnonymous rivalries have way more staying power because of recent history. Texas basically owned the series when A&M was an all male military college. That all changed in the 80’s and 90’s when A&M dominated the Longhorns. In recent years it’s a coin flip. But yeah you go back to the early 1900’s Texas owned the series.

All schools during wartime had roster issues due to war. Maybe TAMU was disproportionately affected because they were a military college but again..that's their problem. What's their excuse for being 4-15 vs. TX before WWI even started?

People like to say Texas A&M is a bad team and like “what have they won” but I mean I am bias but being in the sec vs the big 12 and the sec team has a better record and has more huge upsets against the top dogs I feel like it’s clear which is the better program in my eyes now this year might prove me wrong and Texas really will come in and show the sec who is boss but I have a feeling they won’t and will actually show their true colors as a mediocre program who is still coasting off being in the big 12 with big 12 schedules while for 2 years getting to recruit sec level players

JD, it's an interesting phenomena that's occurring. After the rivalry ended and we parted ways, A&M basically ceased to exist to me. That awkward color which doesn't go well with anything is rarely displayed in Austin and there's absolutely no reason to travel in the direction of college station. Nothing that occurs on that campus carries any value whatsoever to even get mentioned in a conversation on or around campus or anywhere in Austin for that matter. A&M had become nothing more than a conglomerate of aged Aggie jokes that had been passed from generation to generation and left abandoned to collect dust and eventually sold at a garage sale, or even give someone a few bucks just to haul it off for ya. But JD, the time has come. The God's have spoken and judgement will once again be served for the world to see. Hook'em 🤘

A&M has only had 11 top 10 AP finishes and the rivalry really isn't that competitive being Texas leads 76-37-5 and the 37 wins for A&M 15 of those happened in just int he 80's nd 90's. and another 15 were pre WWII know as the non modern era... If you have to ask what needs to be done to revive this game/rivalry you don't know ball. Also the fact A&M's wins were more recent doesn't make the point you think it is - A&M as a program has caught up to texas over time and the past decade while they weren't playing actually surpassed them - now texas is obviously on the come up right now will be interesting to see if A&M and Elko can rise to the occasion

But last year you were (2024) 19th, and the year prior 15th. As well as losing over half of your #1 class. We recruited (by rivals) from 2024 backward -3 -3 -5 -16th (Hermans class sark finished) Thats uh, quite a bit of a disparity the last 2 years. But, whatever man. You'll see.
