1 Timothy 2:5 There is ONE mediator between men and God and that's the man Jesus Christ. NOT mother Mary (Who is also called the Queen of Heaven), and NOT any saints. If you are praying to anything other than Jesus, you are praying to a demon. More over Jeremiah 7 and 44 explain that they were committed sins by worshipping a false God called "The Queen of Heaven". That demon now goes by the name "Mother Mary". The devil comes as an angel of light. This matters.... A LOT. The pope even just told the world that ALL religions lead to God, speaking to Hindus. This is blasphemous and disgusting and the man is filled with the spirit of the antichrist. So yah, this matters!

Oftentimes it's because Catholics themselves will say they're the "one true faith" yet their own practices are so bizarre compared to basically every other denomination and on their face are very non-Christian. A lot of Protestants or even Orthodox Christians likely do have many early interactions with Catholics being the Catholic smugly decreeing, "My denomination is the only right one, YOU aren't a Christian," so oftentimes they will probably end up projecting that back. Given some of the takes Francis has had on religion it's difficult to say that the highest authority in the Catholic Church at present is Christian, at least.

@@Athair48 Whether you are Christian or Catholic, as long as you have faith in Lord Jesus Christ, believes in him, and doing the will of the Lord in your lives then you are not bound in hell at all... We still live in the world full of sins after all as Satan is with us giving us lies and deceptions but remember this, there is no temptation of the enemy that is stronger than the power of Christ... Also, remember this, your works alone can't save you however, if you have faith and thus because of the faith that allows you to do the works/anointed tasks the Lord gave you, you will be fine... Just let Lord Jesus Christ in your heart and that's it... Yes, it will be tough, Lord Jesus Christ even said it himself "If the world hated you, remember that it hated me 1st" but all of it will be worth it when we live our lives with a purpose of being with the true God soon... Remember as well, in the bible, it said "Do not be Afraid" 365 times... So this is how I interpret this teaching, I saw a fellow Catholic speak on this one day and I think it really helped me understand this as well. The KZbinr’s name is IronInquisitor I think! It is a good analogy. So let’s say all denominations are maps on how to get to Heaven. We believe that Catholicism is the most detailed map to get to Heaven, and other denominations are also maps to Heaven, just less detailed. It’s obviously a lot more that goes into it and more complex, but this is kind-of a simple way of explaining it. We believe that all Christians are our brothers and sisters in Christ and that we shouldn’t condemn others, but help guide others. I hope this helps! Sorry if it didn’t! God bless! ❤

@Athair48 Hello, I am a Catholic, and this is my understanding. The Catholic Church professes to have the fullness of the faith and other beliefs have a partial understanding of the fullness of the faith. Similar to the map concept described in an earlier post. The question then becomes, what is meant by the fullness of faith? For Catholics, that usually means Scripture, the Papacy, and the Teaching Magisterium (teaching authority of the Bishops, aka tradition). We believe that this passing down of authority is also scriptural, if you would like to discuss that. In relation to your family if you do choose to become Catholic, it would be prudent to share the teachings of the Catholic faith, woth the hopes of bringing them into the fold of the fullness of faith.

We share all of the same ideals as mentioned in Thought #1 but have quite different philosophies and histories surrounding them, along with different practices in church that really are just from cultural divergence (styling of icons, the lack of pews, etc) Plus if you don't want to tread the same ground over again you could post a video on that around a year or two after this one and it would be seen as a fresh topic to cover

Knowing about God is different from knowing God. Remember that prayer is not worship. Worship involves an offering, an altar and a priest to make that offering to God on behalf of the people in both OT and NT. Without the Eucharist, all that Protestants have are memories of Jesus. We have him present with us and in us. What people forget is that Judaism and Christianity are ritualistic sacrificial religions that perform ritual sacrifices on an altar, offering those sacrifices to God for the atonement of sins. In the old testament the sacrifices were animals. God prescribed, X animals for X sin, a proportional sacrifice. Jesus who is God, came down from heaven and provided himself as the sacrifice for our sins. Just as when Ibrahim was going to sacrifice ishak, God provided the sacrifice by sending a lamb so that it could be sacrificed in place of ishak. That’s what Jesus is. He is the God given sacrifice. The lamb of God. But he is God himself, God is infinite, that’s why Jesus’s one sacrifice counts for an infinite amount of people and an infinite amount of sin. It’s proportional. And that’s what makes his sacrifice the one sufficient sacrifice. We no longer need to sacrifice animals because Jesus’s sacrifice is worth more than all of the animals combined. BUT for the sacrifice to apply to us, we need to partake in the sacrifice. What does that mean? In the OT after you take your offering to the priest and he inspects it then takes it to the high priest to be sacrificed on behalf of the people, the offering is then made and then to complete it the people would eat the flesh of the offering. This applies to Jesus’s sacrifice as well and he tells us here: “I am the living bread that came down from heaven. Whoever eats this bread will live forever. This bread is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.” Then the Jews began to argue sharply among themselves, “How can this man give us his flesh to eat?” Jesus said to them, “Very truly I tell you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise them up at the last day. For my flesh is real food and my blood is real drink. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me, and I in them. Just as the living Father sent me and I live because of the Father, so the one who feeds on me will live because of me. This is the bread that came down from heaven. Your ancestors ate manna and died, but whoever feeds on this bread will live forever.” He said this while teaching in the synagogue in Capernaum. On hearing it, many of his disciples said, “This is a hard teaching. Who can accept it?” Aware that his disciples were grumbling about this, Jesus said to them, “Does this offend you?” John 6:51-61 He then shows us how at the last supper. 🇻🇦🇻🇦🇻🇦

@@basedzealot3680 Love the enthusiasm but I think you might have the wrong idea in your purpose. The point of this video and my comment was to help bring us together as Christians, where it seems like you are looking for an argument. I also disagree with your claim that "all that protestants have are memories of Jesus". If that were true, then when I pray the rosary at home, all I have are memories of Jesus. God is living and real and truly present. I would agree with you that the fullness of that presence is in the Holy Eucharist, but your words make it out to seem like God can ONLY be present in the Eucharist, which since the Holy Spirit...ya know...exists...we know that to be false. Like I said I love the enthusiasm for the Blessed Sacrament but I would encourage you to seek out connection with our fellow Christians rather than to simply argue with them nonstop. God bless!

@thomasdemetz6145 that's being completely dishonest and you know that. 1. Muslims don't even believe in the same god as Christians. 2. You're dishonesty to what op was saying is just absurd and before you say it, it obviously would be a stupid statement as I just explained how you could mix match religions, but the statement was NOT about differences In religion. The statement made was speaking about two denominations of the SAME "RELIGION" speaking about the SAME TRIUNE GOD, discussing why they believe their denominations THEOLOGY is the correct one. Therefore switching the name to another religion implies a completely different argument was taking place.

I'm curious, what is your answer to the passage, "Jesus is the only mediator between man and God", regarding this issue? Why is anyone else involved is prayer to God/Jesus? There is also another verse touching upon this issue: Deuteonomy 18:10-12: Let no one be found among you who sacrifices their son or daughter in the fire, who practices divination or sorcery, interprets omens, engages in witchcraft, or casts spells, or who is a medium or spiritist or . Would it not be counted as 'consulting the dead', by praying a saint/other meadiator between man and God? The argument can be made that the saints are not dead because they are living in heaven, but so are non-saints, like normal people who have lived on earth. But do you not think it is wrong to pray these people aswell?

@@Fetdude fyi this is just knowledge I got from my parents who are devout catholics. Like how sometimes we as Christians want to pray or be prayed by one another, it's the same thing for Catholics and the saints, not that the saints are the ones who truly matter, just that they are people who they ask help to pray for them like how we Christians sometimes pray for one another. While the video points out that we differ, there are things we must agree in to be referred followers of Jesus Christ, what is salvation, this is the key to being a follower of Christ, it is the most valuable part of the gospel, we are saved because Jesus paid for our sins, past present future, died and 3 days later rose (resurrected) and ascended to Father, those who accept he did it all implying 100% means there is 0% work needed for salvation, but instead we work because of being saved. Catholicism that is taught that scripture is not sole authority, Jesus had called out the Pharisees for the same reason because Pharisees did away with the commandments of God and made human commandments like the catholic catechism, “He answered them, “Why do you break God’s commandment because of your tradition? For God said: Honor your father and your mother; and, Whoever speaks evil of father or mother must be put to death. But you say, ‘Whoever tells his father or mother, “Whatever benefit you might have received from me is a gift committed to the temple,” he does not have to honor his father.’ In this way, you have nullified the word of God because of your tradition. Hypocrites! Isaiah prophesied correctly about you when he said: “This people honors me with their lips, but their heart is far from me. They worship me in vain, teaching as doctrines human commands.” Matthew 15:3-9 CSB It is Jesus who I follow because the scriptures are what makes a follower not other commandments from man passed by traditions, this is say to you with grace and truth, I do love my catholics friends but I tell them that Jesus Christ is your savior not the catholic church that has exalted themselves with the same authority as scriptures the same way the rabbis in our ages in modern rabbinic judaism and rabbis of the past who rejected Christ (messianic judaism follow Yeshua their Messiah and our messiah, they accept Christ and allowed to do their traditions because it aligns with scripture (Romans 14) (Colossians 2) Messianic traditions are allowed because they are under the Law of Christ and see salvation from Jesus not keeping the law for salvation. They do them because they are saved and want to honor God that way, and scripture allows it.

@@robertceron9056Hey! The Catholic teaching is that we are saved through grace, and our faith is proven through works. A good analogy on this is: Our grace is like a gift, we don’t deserve but we have it. We can use this gift to help others (works) or we can just have it. So we believe that we should use our grace to help others and spread God’s love. Sorry if this is a bad explanation? But I hope this helps! God Bless! ❤️

@@Beproductivetodayyall I agree, however when you say works we differ, I don't believe a marker of follower of Christ is going to confession booth but rather instead going to the only mediator between the Father and us and that's Jesus Christ. I have seen traditions been used as a way to "prove someone is living out his faith" but the reality is the scriptures is what guide us to confess to one another (but not to forgiven in sins like the confession booth) but to not be consumed and isolated in sin, confessing is important but the idea behind it in catholicism is where I differ and see it has kept traditions that are not found in the bible.

I, as a catholic, NEED to say this to you: THANK YOU. It was bacause some of your videos i watched e few months ago that my faith was reignited and is now burning stronger and brighter than ever. At first I was worried when I saw the thumbnail and title of this video, I thought I'd have to stop watching your videos because you were anti-catholic and would show why in this video, but thankfully I was mistaken. Instead you adressed the difference between catholicism and protestantism in the most respectful way I've ever seen on the internet. Just need to correct you on one thing: catholics are also christian (in fact, we were the first christian denomination). I'm saying this because sometimes you said "christians" meaning only protestants (and I don't know if you did it on purpose) but protestants, catholics and ortodox, all of us, are in fact christian. Now, i felt the need to represent the catholic faith using the scripture (just like you did with protestantism), so, if you excuse me, I will explain catholicism just so that other protestants understand us better: INTERCESSION OF SAINTS- We should pray to God, we can (but don't need to) pray to saints. The verb to pray can be used not only with meaning to give praise, thanks and to talk to someone/something but also have the meaning of making a request, and sure, we can and should make requests to God, but in the context of making a request, this verb is also used from humans to other humans, both living, with phisical bodies, here on earth. But we can also ask the saints to pray for us, just like you can ask any of your friends to pray for you. Also, we do not ask them to do the things, we ask them to ask God to do the things or to give us the power and conditions to do the things. Before you say thay can't hear us, Hebrews 11:1-12:1 finishes, "Seeing we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses [in other words, the heroes and martyrs of the faith from ages past], let us run with perseverance the race that is set before us." Thus, the heroes and martyrs are a good example for us, and surround us like spectators at a running race - therefore, obviously, they know about us and can see our struggles from Heaven. James tells us the prayer of the righteous is powerful, and who is more righteous among humans than the ones who are already in heaven, the place where nothing impure can enter? Oh and don't forget: the main thing about the saints is not their intercession, but their example. They are living proofs that we can live our lives by the standard of holiness, just like God asked us to do. Their stories show us that it's never late to come back to Jesus like it was never late for Saint Augustine, it doesn't matter if we are man, like Saint Padre Pio, or woman, like Saint Catherine of Bologna, ou if we are a computer programmer who likes spiderman and playing pokemon like Carlo Cutis, if whe are sincere about our love for Christ like thay were, whe can become saints too. MARY- She remained a virgin for all her life. The "brothers" of Jesus int Matthew 13:55 are not actually brothers and sisters born of the same mother and father, Just close relatives, probably cousins. There are other instances in the bible were they also do this. CELIBACY OF PRIESTS- Well, priests are asked to give most attention to Jesus and the Church, having a wife and kids might make it difficult to give the right time for their family and their God. Even if you think GOD COMES FIRST (and you'd be right), a wife, a mother, a son, a daughter, none of them should have a father that has to leave them so often for God, so it's better if priests remain single PURGATORY- you represented the idea of purgatory correctly, unlike many other protestants who mistankenly think we believe it is the middle of the road, the neutral place for those who were'nt good enough for heaven or bad enough for hell. It is a final place of purification, not only for those small sins you were unnaware of, but also to make you let go of any sinful inclination and clean you completely of it, because, even after you accepted Jesus as your Lord and Saviour., I'm sure you didn't stop sinning completely. It's not something catholics came up with, before Jesus came to this world many had the idea of this purification before entering heaven. MORE BOOKS IN THE BIBLE & SCRIPTURE + TRADITIONS + APOSTOLIC AUTHORITY- The catholic church didn't add these books, instead the protestants took them out of the bible. The scripture had the same canon of books since the first centuries of christianty, and I honestly really don't know why the "SOLA SCRIPTURA" guy eliminated these books if he said the bible was infallible. Also, the bible only exists today because the catholic church carefully analised what books were of divine inspiration and which weren't, if it weren't for them the bible would be nothing like it is today, if there even was a bible. Also many times in scripture assures the value of tredition: stand firm and hold to the traditions which you were taught by us, either by word of mouth or by letter” (2 Thess. 2:15). Jesus told his disciples: “He who hears you hears me, and he who rejects you rejects me” (Luke 10:16). EUCHARIST- THIS ONE IS VERY COOL. In the gospel of John, many times people misunderstood Jesus when He spoke simbollically, but He corrected them, But in John 6:51-69 He not only said to eat his flesh and drink his blood, when people asked him He, instead of correcting himself and saying He didn't really mean it, HE DOUBLES DOWN and says that whoever eats from His flesh and drinks from His blood has eternal life, but who doesn't does not have life within them. Also (HERE'S THE COOL PART), we have many doccumented eucharistic miracles, when the consacrated host (that little piece of bread in the holy mass) not only transubstantiated into the body and blood of Christ, but also TRANSFORMED PHYSICALLY INTO FLESH AND STARTED BLEEDING. Upon scientific analisis from scientists who were not associated with the catholic church and didn't know we the sample of flash came from, the results were consistent: flesh from the heart, fresh blood (and type AB), traces of repeated asfixiation and trauma. You can look into more of these miracles if you want.

Catholic here, very fond of your videos. This is a good video that does a good job to help bridge the divide. Obviously I have different views about the scripture passages quoted (I think you and other watchers are already aware of what a Catholic may think of those passages) but I think you have done a good job explaining the difference between Protestants and Catholics. I will add briefly that several protestants agree with various of the Catholic positions you mentioned, though. For example, Martin Luther thought that Mary was perpetually a virgin as well, CS Lewis believed in Purgatory, and Lutherans believe in the real presence (though they shirk away from language of transubstantiation).
@OctagonalSquare21 күн бұрын
I think more of us believe in the real presence than you realize. Lutherans do well to avoid the language because that is literally the only reason I thought I didn’t believe in it. The word transubstantiation sounds like, because of the English language, the atomic structure changing. Which isn’t the belief of Catholics at large. Substance means an entirely different thing in Latin than in English and the continued use of it causes great amounts of confusion.

Heck, it is one of the doctrines that had once became a Casus Belli for a war (a complete Transsubstantiation king went to war because his cousin does not believe in it, but believes in transformative transubstantion, aka the bread and wine is just ordinary bread and wine, but becomes the body of Christ AFTER being eaten by some divine intervention)

@@karolinazaborowska5430 God Bless You, I know in Germany that the church there is very schismatic and dont follow God and instead go against his word and his church. I know many see the Bible as the biggest authority, but the thing is that God needs to tell how we should view scripture. Many protestants interpret the Bible in their ways and how they want, which gives many different denominations and believes, thousands of them. You see Jesus knew people would use scripture for their benefits or their own ways, so God had to take someone whos faith would never fail and how he would interpret the scripture would be right and true. To make sure he wouldnt make any mistakes, his teachings would be kept from mistakes by the Holy Spirit. To make this person avaible and present, he grounded his church upon him and made it so that nothing evil would ever overthrow it. This Person is Simon who Jesus would call Peter which means Petros in Greek and he is the rock upon God grounded his Church, thats why Rock means Petra in Greek. In Matthew 16:17-19 Says just that. Now you might ask yourself if thats important since Peter was crucified and now in heaven, so his succesors would have the same role as him, so we had a person we could trust since God trusts him. That was a great video, I love to see how you mostly view catholics and it warms my heart to see a respectful protestants, but you some of the ways you view catholic theology is wrong and I want to explain you why, I have no intend to debate anyone but only to show you our beliefs. Your first mistake is about us "praying" to Mary, which is wrong, Catholics don't pray to anyone except God, but what we actually do is asking Mary/saints to pray for us and praising them for their holiness, just like if your sick friend would ask you to pray for him to be healed, or if someone would complement you for reading your bible daily, that's how we talk to Mary/saints, so please do not mistaken our view on holy Mary because I see so many protestants thinking we worship Mary/saints. Secondly is Mary's perpetual virginity, your mistake was to base your opinion on a translated text, as I hope we all know the gospel of Matthew was written in Greek, and the word in Matthew 13:55 that was translated to "brother" is the word "adelphoi" and the word for sister was "adelphe"', now these words do not have to mean the "person's mother's son", It may refer to male/female relatives that one is not a descendant of and that are not descendant from one (such as a blood brother, step-brother, nephew, uncle, cousin, etc.) or non-relatives such as neighbors, fellow workers, co-religionists, and friends. Thirdly is about priest marriage, now you might be surprised but catholic priest did actually marry until around the 12th century, the reason catholic priest do not marry anymore is because as it is stated In 1 Corinthians 7:32-35 an unmarried man can devote his life to God better than a married man, and because most of the life of a priest is about God, being unmarried could be better for a priest's spiritual life. Thirdly and also the last mistake is about purgatory, the reason we believe purgatory exist is because of a few reasons: The first reason is because as it is stated In revelation 21:27 "nothing unclean will enter heaven", now it is true that our mortal sins are forgiven once we confess them, but I have an example for what we mean: imagine a Christian American man living in the 1800's, that man loves God, he reads the bible daily, goes to church every Sunday, confesses their sins daily etc, but this man is racist and owns slaves, this is a big nono for God right?, although he confessed his sins his view on life is still wrong, then what we believe is that this man goes to purgatory, gets his views on life changed for the good and then is clean enough to enter heaven. The second reason is because of 1st Corinthians 3:15 "If any man’s work is burned up, he will suffer loss, though he himself will be saved, but only as through fire". Paul is discussing the judgment after death that every human being will one day face, framed in the context of loss and reward. “Each man’s work will become manifest,” writes Paul, “for the Day [of judgment] will disclose it, because it will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test what sort of work each one has done” (1 Cor. 3:13-14). Paul then describes a state of being. He cannot be describing hell, because people are being saved there. He is not describing heaven, because there is imperfection being “burned up” there (cf. Heb. 1:13, Rev. 21:27). Paul is describing a third place, Purgatory: a place (or state of being) where the faithful dead who are in a state of grace but not yet purified of all imperfection go for final purification to prepare them to enter the glory of heaven. I will say it again, I did not write it to debate, although if someone wants to discuss about what he thinks about what I wrote he is welcome to write it, the only reason I wrote this comment is to give more people awareness about our beliefs. May God bless all of the people who read this 🙏✝️
@daradevlin409321 күн бұрын
Hi, fellow Catholic here. You were bang on about everything here. The only thing I’d say is that Purgatory is not a place but a process. We believe that there is only heaven and hell. But those who are saved still must be purified before entering Gods perfect heaven. I believe many theologians have said that the purifying is simply us being Transformed in the sight of God the Father. His presence will feel so otherworldly that it will be initially painful for us. God Bless btw🙏

@piotreksz.208221 күн бұрын
@Kristalman831 Thank you for this comment. As a fellow Catholic Christian, I had simillar thoughts while watching the video: that things are said without explanation, showing us in a worse light than the protestants whose beliefs had at least a short explanation. About the praying to saints part, I wouldn't mind calling it prayer, if we consider prayer to be a form of talk. It's then how you described it: asking them to talk with Jesus on our behalf aswell. Prayer is just not the same as worship (we can pray to saints, honor them, but not worship as equal to God). Unless prayer just has a different definition in English (not my native language)... but I think you get what I mean by now 😅
@AlexisCando-z1p21 күн бұрын
@@daradevlin4093 my only question here is this, I am once a Catholic and I never really understand much the concept of Purgatory but I do believe that Christians and Catholics are both same believer that only through Lord Jesus Christ that we can be save... When Lord Jesus Christ sacrifice himself when he died on the cross and then overcome death itself, we are already safe with his blood right and also I believe we are also already been purified by our old life of sins right?? Afterall, the blood of Christ covers all of humanities sins... That's why the thief beside Lord Jesus Christ was already also in heaven because he got purified for his sins after he confessed to him and acknowledge that he is indeed the Christ, Lord and savior during that time...
@Kristalman83121 күн бұрын
@@Mammothsaber-4457 well then you and your father should understand the difference between talking and honoring Mary than to praying to God, although they may look similar at first, they are different, praying means worship, talking is just.... talking, try to understand these difference as if it's like telling God about your day and telling your mother about your day, you are talking to both of them and sharing information to them, the difference is that to your mother you are just telling what happened, but to God you thank him that he gave you this day while telling him about it. so, although we do talk to Mary, honor her for her holiness and her giving to this world, we don't worship her, we don't thank Mary for this day, but we do it to God, we understand that although Mary was the second holiest human (except Jesus Christ ofc) that lived on earth, the only one that deserves worship is no other than God.

I've unfortunately had some bad experiences interacting and researching Catholicism. Hoping the Catholics in the comments can clarify for me: 1. Because I'm a "heretic", I will go to hell unless I join the Catholic church. This has been upsetting because I feel like Jesus is doing a lot in my life and I feel a change in my heart and habits/desires. 2. I agree with the points made about confession. However, I have read that in order to go to confession, I need to be part of the Catholic church. And because I have not gone to confession, my sins are retained and will go to hell when I die. Again, really upsetting because now it feels like forgiveness is being gatekept. 3. I've been told that without the second canonical books, I'm reading a "reader's digest" version of the bible. Really unkind comment considering that "reader's digest" version contains the gospel. Personally, I'm interested in checking out Orthodox Catholic churches near me. The church I currently attend is a great bible teaching church and I've been challenged in many ways to change for the better.

In Catholic tradition, prayer to saints and angels is seen not as worshipping them as divine beings, but as asking them to intercede on our behalf, much like we would ask friends or family to pray for us. Catholics believe in the "communion of saints," which means that those in heaven remain connected to us and can pray for us. In the Bible, we see evidence that the saints and angels present our prayers to God. For example, Revelation 5:8 and Revelation 8:3-4 depict saints and angels offering prayers before God’s throne, symbolized as bowls of incense. This imagery suggests that those in heaven can carry our prayers to God, joining us in our petitions. Additionally, in Tobit 12:12 (found in Catholic and Orthodox Bibles), the angel Raphael tells Tobit that he brought his prayers before the Lord, showing that angels can serve as intercessors for humans. This doesn’t take away from Christ’s unique role as our one mediator (1 Timothy 2:5), but instead, it complements it. Catholics believe that asking for the saints' and angels' intercession is a form of spiritual support that doesn't replace Christ’s mediation but aligns with the biblical call to pray for one another (1 Timothy 2:1-4). Finally, in Hebrews 12:1, we’re reminded of the “great cloud of witnesses” surrounding us, a passage that many Catholics understand as a reference to the saints in heaven who remain spiritually connected to us. This communion with the faithful in heaven allows Catholics to ask for their prayers, just as we would ask for prayers from loved ones here on earth. So, while Catholics absolutely pray to God directly, they also believe that the saints and angels can join in their prayers, supporting them as part of the broader family of faith.

It will be wise for you to brush up on your history of the early church fathers. The statement where you said the very foundation of supposed Catholic authority is to treat the traditions of man as having equal authority to God is blatantly inaccurate and shows you are totally misinformed about the Catholic faith. Go attend a mass and see if worship is for man or God. Go learn about the traditions of the Catholic Church and find out for yourself if these traditions are for man or for God. Jesus passed on the leadership of his church to his apostles, whom then passed on to bishops, presbyters (priests), and deacons, with bishops holding the primary role of overseeing the Church. God inspired His word to say that we are to call no man on Earth our "father". Catholics call priests "father". Do you believe God and His word, or Catholic traditions? God inspired His word to say that there is only one mediator between God and mankind, and that is Jesus Himself. God inspired His word to say that we are to never under any circumstances try and contact the dead. Catholicism teaches that we are to 'venerate' the dead, IE to contact them via what is essentially prayer. It also teaches that the purpose of contacting these dead human beings is to ask them to act as mediators. Do you believe God and His word or Catholic traditions? Most importantly, God inspired His word to say that you cannot work to earn your slavation, not in full or in part. By even trying to earn your salvation you therefore believe a different and therefore false gospel. You wrote: "A sinner confessing to sinner can't wash away your sins." But priest are sinners, too. Saved by grace through faith, like anyone else. God is the one who forgives your sins, and He uses the priest to pronounce absolution for your reassurance that _He forgave you of those sins at the moment when you came to true faith in Jesus' propitiatory sacrifice for your redemption from all sin._ Besides, Rome requires that you have "perfect contrition" and perform the assigned penances (works of the flesh which can never merit forgiveness). Tell me, do you (an imperfect human) ever have doubts about your ability to whip up _perfect_ contrition?

@rexlion4510 wait until you see all your popes in hell. When I fall into sin I be on my knees and ask MY LORD JESUS CHRIST with faith and he always show me sign he has forgiving me. MY LORD JESUS will never wait for approval of man before he forgives me my sins. Your Pope is a sinner just like you and me. Repent and gives all your worries to JESUS alone.

Could a person be just Christian, with no any other label? I was raised Catholic but as an adult I started attending a Baptist Church because I feel more connection with Jesus there. Jesus is my saviour and I don’t feel the need of more labels but Christian.

Do you need a label to be saved? Of course not! If you stay close to Jesus, have faith and repent daily, you're good :)

@@ArtePlaysyou see that's the problem when someone says sda i can kinda expect something like believing that in current life you can become a saint, but some literally ignore Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect. Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. It is God’s will that you should be sanctified: that you should avoid sexual immorality

11:45 Uhhmm i have a question didn't Jesus say "Pray to the Father" and i think no where in scripture where it said or encourages to pray to Jesus "Matthew 6:6 and Matthew 6:9-13" I remember this saying "Pray to Father, In Jesus' Name , By the Holy Spirit" Please tell me about this :( And Thank you Impact for Encouraging Peace and Love between Catholics and Protestant because i see a lot of drama about it especially in the Philippines :( Thank you very much! And always remember Jesus Loves You❤🙌🫂

Jesus indeed told us to pray in His name. We should pray the father in Jesus name : “And in that day you will ask Me nothing. Most assuredly, I say to you, whatever you ask the Father in My name He will give you. Until now you have asked nothing in My name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full." John 16:23-24

Well Jesus is God and so is the Holy Spirit. If you believe in the trinity then praying to any is the same. You can pray to all 3 if you want to but you are still praying to the same God, no worries.
@gwarchive22 күн бұрын
Hi! I think in the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus didn't necessarily imply "only the Father listens to your prayers." We know that isn't true because Jesus continued and continues to communicate with people post-ascension. Jesus is wholly God, just as the Father is wholly the same God. So if in our prayers we address Jesus, it is still heard because we are still praying to the God of the Christian Bible. Jesus used "Father" in the Lord's Prayer to provide a clear template, but it isn't a template we must rigidly follow. For example, if I am praying before a meal, and I did not pray for forgiveness of sins, is my prayer still regarded by God? Of course. So as long as you direct your prayers to the triune God, then it is accepted. While people did not address their prayers explicitly to Jesus in the NT, it isn't unbiblical. Jesus is God. People in the OT prayed to God. Hence, we can pray to Jesus, because it's the same essence.

I was Catholic and my religion teacher told me that hell exists, but that it is empty, and that it will say empty, but Jesus obviously warned us of hell, and purgetory contradicts the gospel, because if Jesus purified us once, why would we need to be purified again
@cheifhog255221 күн бұрын
Purgatory literally doesn’t contradict it. It’s blatantly obvious both from the literal word and the context it gives that purgatory exists. For one there’s a handful of references towards post death purgation. The context is in regard to the judgement of one’s works and the paraphrase of the text is something to the effect of “he may yet be saved, but only as through fire”. You aren’t judged before death, so this hypothetical individual MUST have already undergone bodily death. Further the passage implies that the individual is imperfect and requires further purification, but that they will still be saved at the purgation’s end. This is perfectly reasonable because we already know only the absolutely perfect and spotless can enter into the presence of God without being obliterated outright. Last time I checked I certainly wasn’t spotless and neither are you. Yet he has promised that those who are baptized into the New Covenant and do not apostatize from the faith will be saved. These two things would contradict each other, unless there was some period of purgation between the exit of the soul from the body and entrance into the Kingdom of Heaven. The only other alternatives to this belief are the absurdities of Calvinism where some men were specifically created to be condemned or the equally absurd new age opinion that most people go to heaven. All of this nonsense really boils down to the Protestant acceptance of the heresy of Sola Fide. The moment you accept that you accept what is effectively moral relativism with a Christian coat of paint and remove all agency from an individual’s existence. You also lose the ability to simply say that any who are lost simply chose not to practice the faith, as that would contradict the idea that faith alone is what saves a man. Not faith in accordance with the works asked of us by God. As far as your teacher goes I’m going to explain this as simply as I can. Catholicism is at a bit of a low point right now and has been for at least 60 years. I’d argue we’ve been at a low point since the end of WWI and perhaps a bit earlier. Regardless of when exactly it happened, a new heresy has been working its way into the Church for approximately a century. That being the Modernist Heresy. We already know that individuals, like a woman known as Bella Dodd, managed to get ardent “supporters of the hammer and sickle ideology” into the Priesthood and Masons were scheming against the Church since their inception. What you’re seeing today is merely the final form of a heresy that has gone overlooked for far, FAR too long. However as with every heretical uprising suffered by The Catholic Church, it will be purged and fail. These days you must be as innocent as lambs, yet cunning as serpents. Know who you get information from and know historical Catholic teachings before assuming whatever you hear is true Catholic Orthodoxy.

What is the difference between Orthodox and Catholic though?
@Daniel_Godismyjudge--Isah33.2222 күн бұрын
Peace be with you Friend ❤️ The Primary difference is that Catholics believe that the Holy Spirit proceeds from The Father to the Son. While Orthodox Believe that the Holy Spirit Proceeds from Only the Father. Orthodox do also deny the Pope & Original sin, if I am Not mistaken.

@varia._withGod I am Not sure what to say, Friend. If you don't deny it, then It's Ok. Also, just to be clear about Original sin, what I have heard is that Orthodox deny the participate in the guilt of it, but Not the consequence of it. Basically, we are Not Guilty of Original Sin, but we do have the consequences of it.
