All be honest as someone who’s been married for decades. When you date focus on communication first. Sit and talk about everything and get to know each other beyond the physical appearances. Don’t distract yourself with movies and going on adventures. You can easily tell someone is not for you by just talking to them and seeing if they are a good fit. I’ve allowed the enemy in at times with the lie of “you’re getting older tick-tock.” But the truth is that Gods timing is perfect. A piece of advice as someone who was single for most of my teenage and young adult years. If you want a godly woman, be the godly man that godly woman would need. I'm not only talking about biblical knowledge (which is undeniably important) but also on character; do you have vices? do you know how to lead? how do you treat others? how do you react when there's trouble? are you good/patient with kids? are you a good listener? are you introspective? are you emotionally intelligent? do you have a good hygiene and healthy habits? are you compassionate? You can be as conservative as you can be, but if you're someone unpleasant to be with, don't be tempted to blame the world or "wokeness" for it.

About the first part, I feel like it's going from one extreme to the other. Yes you shouldn't abandon who you are to try and save an unfounded relationship, but that doesn't mean you should completely ignore the others demands and act only for yourself, which is selfish. Both have to make sacrifices for the other to unite in a stronger relationship in my opinion.
@JohnSmith-yc6uv2 ай бұрын
Under no circumstances should a man especially, but anyone really, sacrifice the purpose that God made them for, for any reason...particularly to please people. Your "opinion" is not in alignment with reality if you act contrary to God's plan. Doesn't matter how you "feel like" it "should be." If you act according to the feelings and opinion posited in your OP, there's an EXTREMELY high likelihood that you will end up divorced.
@arthurg85152 ай бұрын
But isn't acting for your own good at the expense of the other against God's plan? The purpose of marriage is to continue together, united, which has to come with a couple sacrifices. I don't mean sacrifices against god, and his plan, but necessary sacrifices for the marriage to hold. Example, if I want to play games all day, but I want to be married, I have to sacrifice that will to strengthen the relationship. Just like how you make sacrifices to strengthen your relationship with Jesus. From the video I understood that it is bad to make sacrifices to strengthen the relationship of a couple, and that you should instead think about yourself in priority. Keep following the path that God wishes you to, I agree, but making sacrifices for the other and vice versa seems essential to me to create a new and founded marriage. Sacrifices that don't go against the will of God that is.

English is the 3rd language I learned so maybe it's on me that I understand it wrongfully, but that's how I interpreted his message which I found odd: -first he sacrificed too much of himself in an unfounded relationship -then he concludes you have to think about yourself first and foremost, which seemed selfish to me. -I agree with the objective to make sure to stay on the path of God, but you have to sacrifice parts of you for the better of the unity through marriage. Which is life changing, and in a good way too. But that doesn't mean it's not who you weren't meant to be, which is where I understood differently in the video. Anyway it might just be me, have a good day 😊

I've surrendered love and everything over to God. Doing as He's instructed me and waiting on my turn. If, it's His Will for my life.

This is great advice! Thanks! I already knew this, but I semi-forgot, so I'm thankful for the reminder! It helped re-align my goals! God led me to a woman and to ministry, and I thought, "Well, if He led me to this woman and to ministry, he must be leading her to ministry too. No?" And indeed, He is. So, I go evangelizing weekly and I send reports to her the day after, and she gladly reads them! Only, she longs to do ministry, but she herself has been hurt by her abusive father and is recovering. She can't "pour into others" until she "fills up her own cup." So, please pray, if you don't mind that God can continue to lead us into ministry together and keep us focused on (and continue to reveal to us the specifics of) the calling which He has given us to do, and to fill up her cup so that she can pour into others when the time is right. Great videos! Godspeed!

Naw, this directly called me out. This video was like God slapping me in the face. Definitely needed this. Have the same passion as you and had the same perspective on what a relationship should be like. Thanks my brother in Christ 🙏

Thank you again for another video on relationships, Impact!!! I'm trying to focus on a singing career for the church, actually, spreading my voice and talent to other parishes to praise God and to help choirs that need a good voice, yet I've got so many obstacles in my way in life. I'm 25 now, trying to pass my driver's test to start driving (but it keeps getting put off. ; _ ;), we only have one car, and so many stresses from everything else in my life... I'm talking to a friend online to help me through this difficult time, trying to enjoy my time with my family before I live my own future, and trying my hardest to figure out what God wants me to do, but it's been so hard!!! In the meantime, I am crushing over a guy at church, yet I know that I'm only brushing the surface, and not knowing him on a personal level, and I know that looks are not *everything*... I'm a romantic, I can't help it. X) But please, pray that whatever happens, that I will find my Calling and not lack in my prayer life. I need prayer desperately. Thank you so much, and God bless all of those who are searching for their own paths with love, but most importantly, Jesus! :)

Oh, I'm from the Philippines! Looks like God connected me to your videos since somehow, from time to time, I am lost. But now, every morning, I read the bible, sing praises to him and after that, i watch your videos to be inspire and learn something. I am happy that I am connected with God again and reading his word. I am happy to be a subscriber to your channel. Keep up the good works. Mahal ko kayo.

Thank you so much for this video; literally, I feel like you just reminded me of where I need to focus! I’ve been struggling with where my calling should be after failing auditions for music. I have other passions including missions for Japan ironically, but even exploring those avenues felt like dead ends everywhere I turned. I felt like exploring online dating and that has gone (not surprisingly) nowhere. God is so good and I know he’ll lead me to where I need to be and Lord willing, bring a partner along side me. Pray for me guys cause I’m looking into going back for a 2nd Master’s degree in business now. I don’t want to hit another dead end.

Hey brother thanks for their vid! I have to say after watching many many videos on relationships advice being a single man this is the first time I truly feel at peace being pointed away from being obsessed with the desire for a relationship and focusing on God and his plans for me first. God Bless!

Wow. I was about to go to Japan to spread the word by teaching English and my girlfriend at the time said that would end us. I stayed, not just for her, but she was a big part of it. We married and had a kid and I've fought for her for so long, and made a ton of my own mistakes, and last month she said she was getting divorce papers though I still wanted to look for a way to keep fighting. There's a bunch more that I won't get into, but when she said that, it was about the 9th or 10th time she talked about ending our marriage. I can't say I'd trade anything for our son, but I feel like I maybe should have gone to Japan. I just got this video 11 years later than I would have liked, but God's timing is perfect. I fasted early on in our separation, and on that day, I and was led to a Church planting ministry when I was just trying to play with my son. I've been practicing a "dry" bar ministry and it's bearing fruit, I just have to keep going.

This video makes a lot of sense as to why we Men must first identify and understand our God-given assignment before looking for a Woman. Thanks for this impactful video, it is a blessing!

Dude Ty so much it helped me to look at love at the RIGHT way and I can’t thank you enough because: One time I was crushing on a girl she was the school artist and I loved her.. but I only cared about appearance and uhh body- ayo pause… so yeah.. one I realized that I was looking at love the wrong way and I don’t need to care if a girl looks beautiful or has a good body it’s who she really is. Who is she really is her true self her true intentions so thank you so much it’s not about appearance but who is she really is have a blessed day God bless

An important caveat about the "Figure out what God wants you to do" part: For most of us, God may not necessarily whisper in our ears "I want you to do XYZ" haha. But I think the Word shows us that our main purpose on earth is to: * Know and Love God (John 17:3) * Make Him known (Matthew 28:19-20) (also add the many verses about doing good works, serving the church, the poor etc.) Though, it's helpful to think of our gifts and think how we can use them in specific ways in ministry and our communities. But yea, we should remember that the main way God speaks to us is through His word, but of course be open to see where He leads us as we prayerfully seek His guidance and our church communities' guidance on how we can serve Him best :)
