Thanks for that, we do like to show rare and interesting plants, some do not get many views, however even if a few people are interested we like to publish.

Hi, great video! My Mum has this plant and a few days ago I took a cutting to propagate my own. I followed a tutorial on how to propagate it by a different video on youtube, but im having a few problems :( I dont know if you can help me? I cut it 3 days ago and keep it in a glass of water (tap water) and I leave it by my window. (I currently havent put it in direct sunlight as im not sure if it needs it or not). The leaves have started curling inwards and I really dont know why. I dont see any signs of root growth yet, I dont know if I'm doing anything wrong. I'm new to growing plants so I would appreciate any help! 😊

Did you Make sure that you have cut just below a node, Remove the lower foliage and cut the remaining leaves in half Mist spray to improve humidity Make sure it is in good filtered light, not direct sun. Change the water every day or two. Root growth can take 10 - 14 days. If the water method does not work try the soil method with a half plastic bottle over the top to keep the humidity high.

Hi how long is their life cycle?
@johnnyAGardening Жыл бұрын
This is an evergreen perennial. They last well in good conditions, not uncommon to see plants that are 20 years old.

Would you recommend cutting all the longer stems down?
@johnnyAGardening3 жыл бұрын
You could cut some down for shape, but we tend to only remove the older dead stems as needed. However, if they are getting to tall, try taking a few back in height and see if you like the look.

I love these parrot plants but i keep getting an infestation of hundreds of little black mites on mine can you tell me what they are and how to get rid of them i did buy some spray for them but i dont think it works
@johnnyAGardening3 жыл бұрын
Cant tell what they are without seeing them, HOWEVER You can wash them off by watering from overhead, outdoors use a hose, inside, maybe in the shower or in a large sink. Or use an insecticidal soap spray. Or maybe a pyrethrum spray.

I have several of these, and have 3 questions... 1- How (and where) are the seeds? 2- What are the little tiny bugs on the Plant? 3- Are they poisonous in any way? Thank you, and hope you can help :)
@johnnyAGardening3 жыл бұрын
The seeds appear after the flowers, however it does not set seeds very often for us. We have not grown from seeds, but from cuttings. I think the little bug you mention is an ant after the nectar in the flowers. Yes the leaves are toxic,
