When I was 16 years old I saw these guys at warped tour. I ended up getting caught in the mosh pit to THIS song in particular. While I don't agree with the lyrical content, you're correct; Metal is a genre of music. Music, by definition, is based on sound. If the sound happens to be fast and aggressive, it is Metal; regardless of what the lyrics may be about.
