I liked both of them, but the print makes me smile more. Love this way of working.

@ 7:58 - This was transformational for me. I love Jules' and his circle/cell period but I had no idea he 'poured" paint directly onto canvas. Spot on.

Thanks Daniel, I liked him, an interesting artist. Lots to learn from his way of working. Happy painting, Albert

Your Olitski style prints remind me of using a gel plate to make cool prints. The gel plates you can buy are smallish, but some people make their own plates in big trays like cookie sheets.
@ImperfectPaintings Жыл бұрын
Thanks, Barbh1. Oh, I keep forgetting to buy gelplates, I would love to play with them. I would go for a bigger one as well. Albert

What the great vid! I like both, neat and interesting :)) and maybe more the base in the end.. 'accidents' are always very exciting. Thanks for this beautiful inspiration!

I like Jules art work, although I was unfamiliar with him, very colorful, and it makes me want to try some of that pouring technique. There are a lot pouring examples on YT, and a lot of artist use a pin to help pop the bubbles. Olitski's art reminds me a bit of Yui Kugimiya in that they were both abstract, colorful, and deal with shape. Do I like neat or interesting artwork? Well, it all depends. I tended to like Olitski's smoother work, but I like both, neat & interesting. Thanks Albert.
@ImperfectPaintings4 жыл бұрын
Hi Culture Fan, thanks. Oh yes, it always depends about smooth or interesting or messy. Just as with all other options like medium or raw for your steak. That's also the beauty of an artist like Olitski, he made both. I will look into the artist you named, thanks. Bye, Albert

Albert, I love your classes, I don't suppose you can be convinced to make a video on how to paint like Schiele or Klimt please :) ???? Thank you for sharing the feeling we can try and be brave in our art.
@ImperfectPaintings4 жыл бұрын
Hi Lulu, thanks. Schiele and Klimt are great but also quite complex. I look for ways to simplify it al and still experience the idea of the artists. I will put them on my list and see if i now can find my way . Albert

Great as usual!! Can you explain how you mount your paintings and frame them? Or do you use narrow canvas panels? I like your video’s very much. They give some inspiration during the lockdown!
@ImperfectPaintings4 жыл бұрын
Hi Peter, thanks. I have one empty frame with a foam board mounted in it. I use pieces of masking tape to temporarily (only for the photograph) mount the sheet with the painting on it. Take picture and go over to the next one. If I don't forget it, I will show it in a behind the scenes video in the coming weeks. Hops this helps. Bye, Albert P.S. stay safe
