I think this is the most touching and humbling of the Habsburg traditions. No matter if you were in life an Emperor and holder of dozens of titles, in the end you are dust like everyone else.

This is a powerful contrast to the committal service of Queen Elizabeth II as her titles were recited as her coffin was lowered into the Royal Vault. In the Kapunziner Gruft, all titles and honors must be denied before gaining entry into the crypt.

It is unbelievable that the body of Charles I, the last Emperor of Austria is not buried in his country. Today's Austrians should demand it. It is more than historical justice, it is respect and decency.

Body of Philip of Flanders should also be buried at the crypt. His heart is in the crypt as far as I remember but his body is beside his mother-in-law Isabella of Castile which is insulting. He's not a Trastamara but a Habsburg unlike his grandson who grew up in Castile and identified as a Spaniard not a German.

@@thiagomoreira5897 If I remember correctly, Karl did not abdicate or renounce his status as Emperor. The government of Austria requires Habsburg family members to swear allegiance to the Republic in order to enter the country. The government also requires that they renounce their royal and noble titles.

@@no13mungonkanoknumpa17 Austria no longer has a Monarchy. Otto von Habsburg was only allowed back into Austria under the strict condition that he rejects any and all claims to rule. His titles/stylings remained simply honorary same as with nobility in Germany. So in short no he cannot as there is no longer an Austrian Throne

It doesn't say the 10 Commandments, it's because of our sins in general. In Revelation it says for example "and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death." Lying is not part of the 10 commandments. The 10 commandments are still true and valid but they were given to a certain people, at a certain time and there is more than that. The next untrue thing is "repentance of sins", the Bible never uses that phrase. Repentance means change of mind from unbelieve to believe in that context. Even God repents in the Bible and he obviously has no sins, so repentance means something different, namely changing your mind and turn your faith to Christ. Faith in Christ is what saves you from Hell, he did it all on the Cross. You do as good as you can to follow but you will never be able to repent from all your sins as long you on this earth. "If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us."

All titles are non-existent. They are all figments of the people's imagination, and are only important if we believe that they are important. Otto von Hapsburg was given a noble burial service because even though Austria has become a republic, many people still believed in the importance of Otto's imperial dignity, as it was an important era of Austria's history.
