That was very rough on your opponent. The flame thrower is still +2 pen, so there would be plenty more casualties. Where did you read it does not pen? In the weapons table it is clearly indicated with +2

Just a note: heavy weapons (like 'meat chopper') ignore gun shield rule (p126) :) Awesome game and fun commentary. Love the terrain and theme.

2 minor rules misses point blank cancels out the down cover save bonus, and vehicles cant combine forward and reverse movement in one activation, a few places where you forgot to take the 1 inch rule into account but thats easy to do in the heat of the moment, and you did pick up on it, at other times.

cheap tanks and use your melee rules to zone enemies away from objectives. Or HE spam with light mortars. Personally im running a list with 3x Chi Ha, 2x Ho Ro, 3x 15 man inex squads, 3 man lt and captain squads, kempeitai, and medic because I'm not sure what to do with the remaining ~40 points. might be better into a shinhoto chi ha, but this list only has 12 dice as it is.

When an officer Snaps his men to action he himself cannot take a Down Order. Furthermore a gunshield will not give your Crew a coversave against a HMG as it is a heavy weapon…gunshields only help versus light arms fire.

IIRC you can only snap-to out of an open top vehicle and that canvas cover makes the trucks not open topped according to the rulebook. So you cannot snap to and deploy an additional unit out of the truck on T3.

The "National Characteristic" army special rule for the British Commonwealth forces allows you to pick from a list of unique special rules, many of which are flavored to represent different geographical forces from the then British Commonwealth, such as the ANZAC. Really makes you feel like you are fielding a custom regiment.

Lots of rules errors in this no point going down in point blank yoy don't get a save flamethrowers have plus 2 and lots of units breaking the one Ince rule rule plus some other small rules but as a game it was entertaining

i completely disagree on japanese infantry gunlines, because japanese infantry is worse than any other major nations infantry. soviets, brits, germans and americans both easily outgun and even outmelee japanese infantry. SMG squads from other nations are much better at close range and melee than japan with their whopping 1 smg per squad, ontop they have more access to better weapons at long range. fanatic is useless if your squads just get deleted and i dont think that fanatics is strong as ppl make it out to be. it rarely every even matters, because morale checks are not even common in my experience. for every morale check i had to take in the past i probably rolled 5 fubars (which are not even affected by the fanatics rule). my opinion on v3 (from a japanese players perspective) is that everything that works for japan, someone else can already do better.

so after posting this i had a mental argument with myself and came up with the conclusion that fanatics is good, when youre playing low bodycount troops, but one of the few upsides of japan is that they have like 18 men troops, which automatically lowers the value of fanatics. because noone is gonne take out 9 of your dudes in a single squad in one turn. ofc there are exceptions, but high bodycount squads are ultimately less likely to even ever make a morale check, which defeats the purpose of fanatics. so german SS for example benefit much more from fanatics than japan, because they can take like 7 man squads or whatever with 2 lmgs that have +1 shot plus panzerfausts and smgs potentially. which loops back to my original point that everything japan does, everybody else can do better.
