I'm in northwest Iowa, I'm 39, going to loose all of my teeth. All the research I've done you seem to be the best option. I wish I were closer, I feel like I'm left with poor options out here, last place I called said they have performed 3, or 4 of these procedures! 🤦♂️

Ultra informative vid Doc, thank you! My gf has an all on 4 upper hybrid denture and its one of those "botched" examples, with implants going in at obscene angles and screw holes not even remotely lining up with the teeth.. so much so that some of the entry points for the screws are in between teeth, on the inner gum line and worst of all, one is secured Above a tooth on the gum Above it , right under her lip! I dont get this insane placement when ,as u said there should be angled abutments that Should let the screw down point be placed in a more Normal position... anyway, the fit aweful and the upper arch was Much too lrage an arch,as well as the teeth being too big And the wrong color as well.. she left That dentist after he installed that nitemare and wouldnt finish correcting the mess... doubt he could have anyway, short of redoing the entire process...I dont see how such a bad fit could have happenned with all the 3d imaging and molds that were done? It seemed to us that he was late in getting the teeth done on the time he promised..after being almost 9 months total...Without Any teeth...6 month healing after implants, then Another 3 month delay for the lab ....she was given cheapo plastic denture for her upper and some polygrip when the implants were 1st done... she couldnt stand it and never used it so the entire 9 months she went toothless..Bro, this was and is a nitemare scenerio... she left that dentist and went 3 yrs with that contraption on her upper till infection started to rage... now ,present day we are struggling to find Another dentist who is willing to deal with that previous guys mess of an install.. most couldnt even locate Where to drill to expose the screws to remove it.. finally a perodontist was able to find the hidden holes and get 3 screws out and the 4th one is stripped! so she has it still on her held by 1 screw! he is having trouble getting it out and tried slotting the head to no avail.. then used the Salvin toolkit and even with that couldnt back it out.. seems it was way overtorqued... anyway, what a mess! we are to see the perodontist again as he will attempt to drill the head off the remaining screw...if theres a better way to go about this , please let us know! Becuz of this fiasco, she Wants to get a snap on instead so she will never been in this helpless state again of dentists not being able to remove what was installed..

Watched a few of your videos now, thank you for the information. I currently have three implants, one upper molar and two lower molars. I feel like my jaw can only handle so many implants so now I am considering All on 4. My concern is that my current implants will cause an issue and I am not sure what the best course of action would be, there is not a lot of information out there speaking to people who already have implants in their jaw. So I guess I am curious what your advice might be?

You didn't mention that snap on's sometimes allow for more lip support. I have an all on four and my dentist is saying then can't add more material up top bc it would hinder cleaning it. So, I am faced with ok~ do you want to look sunken in or bulk the lip up with snap ons. I wish I would have been more informed before I did this procedure.
@Ali.Bruni143 Жыл бұрын
That’s a great point when debating on which procedure to get done. Thank you for bringing that up. I think I’m going to the snap in primarily because of the ease of cleaning, but also really don’t want to look sunken in at all!

@18:12 🙋🏼♀️that would be me lol…I just keep thinking about how the whole reason I’m getting dentures is because periodontitis has started degrading bone and loosening my teeth, so I’m not trying to make keeping my gums clean harder, after extraction. I’m paranoid to do all on four because I’m afraid the same thing that is happening to my teeth will happen to the posts. It sounds like you agree the snap ons are more hygienic, but you don’t recommend them because patients like the Ao4 stability better?
@northtexasdentalsurgery2 жыл бұрын
your assessment is correct. I used to push snap on denture more earlier in my career cuz its more hygienic. however, if properly done, all on 4 is just as good without the bone loss. again, key phrase is "if properly done". all my patients have done well even though they had a history of severe periodontal disease. as long as you take good care of them, you will do well with them to. in regards to function, there is absolutely no comparison.

Question: If my teeth have to all be removed due to getting lose due to bone loss, what type of implant do you recommend i bring up to my dentist, the snap ons or the permanent ones( all in 4)?.
@dknc7393 Жыл бұрын
@16:28 About the question if patient has lots of bone loss, how come all on 4 can be better? Is it because the freedom of picking any angle with abutment and because the angle allow for the surgeon to pick a denser bone that way? or better leverage?

@patmanchester80452 жыл бұрын
people want snap in for two reasons, they are cheaper, and they are easier to clean because you can soak the denture in Polident. I have a permanent partial and even though I brush three times a day, floss three times a day and use the water pick three times a day, I accumulate a lot of plaque under it. when it had been removable, I could clean the entire thing to keep the plaque off.
@northtexasdentalsurgery2 жыл бұрын
correct. they're cheaper and easier to clean. but there are other disadvantages. more people report getting food under there while eating and they can't stand it. also performance wise its way worse than all on 4. no way to sugarcoat performance. all on4 by a mile

Hi Dr Choi, It's been 2 weeks since i had all 4 of my wisdom pulled. I ate scallops today and noticed gritty sand in my mouth. 2 of my bottom extractions are not fully closed should I be worried about possible sand or do you think i could possibly wash it out with a syringe? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I went to a local practice today for a consultation on a lower snap-in denture with 2 implants. I only have 4 teeth that need extraction. My estimate was $16k.....this seems absurd!!!! The market is oversaturated around here too.
@northtexasdentalsurgery2 жыл бұрын
that's way overpriced. you can get an All on 4 for that price

@@northtexasdentalsurgery Thanks so much for the reply. I knew it wouldn't be cheap, but that number almost made me fall out of my chair🤣I'll be going for a second (or third) opinion elsewhere🙂

Definitely overpriced! I’m getting the two implant snap-ons, and my implants by themselves are $3,000 but the whole procedure for top and bottom dentures including the implants is going to be around just $7K the includes the temporary-immediate dentures. But this is KY and I have insurance. Just keep shopping around if you can! If you haven’t gotten the procedure yet
@raestiffler5859 Жыл бұрын
But I’m also just getting a regular upper denture, because getting implants too and bottom would make it around $10K probably

@angelaschaefer58838 ай бұрын
These are never going to be affordable. They require surgery for placement and sometimes more than one. There is risk of implant failure and infection. My mom had both of those things happen. Which they charge full price to do them again. She would have been better off to get partial. I would say 95% of us who have tooth loss. Will have dentures. That is exactly what I am getting and I am happy with my decision. So I would suggest that you look for affordable options for dentures. Because that is very important that you get the best set you can afford now. Better set in few years. Which is exactly what I am doing.
@angelaschaefer58838 ай бұрын
I don’t feel bad. This is solely for people who can afford the procedure. I am not one of those people. I will be getting dentures and I am looking forward to it. You have functional teeth that look nice. Seems to me you should be pretty happy. I sure will be when I get mine.

Let's keep it real. In most cases, going with All on 4 vs overdenture will cost double. They crapped hard on overdenture, I'm surprised they even do it..
@northtexasdentalsurgery2 жыл бұрын
you'd be shocked to see the cost comparisons for overdenture versus all on 4. at least at our practice, there's not much of a price difference. what we noticed is patients never come back for comfort checks, etc with all on 4. with overdentures, its like you see patients every week for weeks to get an acceptable fit. expectations need to be tempered with overdentures.

It's obvious from the word go that this guy wants to push his patients into the all-on-four expensive option. I would not be going to this kind of a dentist who is really just a greedy salesman. I bet almost every patient who goes to men like this intending to have a snap in denture, will invariably end up with an all on four.

DR. In the name of all that is good... Stop saying "Um" and "Kinda" and the worse "Like" please, talk like a grown up. Oh, and tell her to take the gum out of her mouth - very unprofessional. OTHERWISE, I love your channel, the info I've learned is amazing. But you "filler words" make you sound like a 13 year old girl telling her friends about some boy. I know it's a generational thing, but what a sad torch to carry. Take time to talk, think a 100th of a second before filler words come out.
