Thank you Ajahn Brahm. You are not talking to empty rooms! Keep going. I'm a Lay Buddhist...since 1980. I learnt Buddhism in 1980 at The Thailand Theravada Buddipadepa Temple in South London UK. Enjoy the 8 Jhanas and the Tathagatha.......The Cosmic Buddha. These days...I'm now 70...I now belong to the Mahayana Buddhist Tradition. Listening to you is a daily habit I have cultivated since the lockdown. Your talks, Venerable, makes me realize there is so much one can be happy about with oneself and one's situations. One is reminded about that daily. Please share your stories that are life lessons said with so much cheer.

Sadhu Sadhu Sadhu 🙏🙏🙏 I am Learning Good Dhamma (Buddha's Teaching) and at the same time i am Learning Austrilan English ( i mean i am improving my listening skills)... Thank you very much Ajaham Braham..... And i am vey glad that because Even in Western and in Europe the are Following Buddha's Teaching..... Buddhism is not only for Buddhists , actually it is for Every back ground of the peoples ... Buddhism is the The law of nature and The religions of Freedom .... The facts that why i like Buddhism is because of this 👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇 “Do not believe in anything simply because you have heard it. Do not believe in anything simply because it is spoken and rumored by many. Do not believe in anything simply because it is found written in your religious books. Do not believe in anything merely on the authority of your teachers and elders. Do not believe in traditions because they have been handed down for many generations. But after observation and analysis, when you find that anything agrees with reason and is conducive to the good and benefit of one and all, then accept it and live up to it. Buddha

In the Tibetan tradition, one of the Bodhisatta vows is to accept what is offered to you. Unless you have a very good reason, never reject an offering. This could be also a reason for the Dalai Lama accepted the poor lady's gift to him.

If no captioning, please click on first rectangle on the right at the bottom of the video and the words are shown. This can be done on any youtube video.
@BuddhistSocietyWA4 жыл бұрын
Hi L McLean, youtube adds captioning generated by their own technology. However, these don't appear immediately (and you have to have closed captions switched on in your youtube window). You might want to follow a week or two behind. I'm not sure how long it takes for the captions to be generated, but I think it might be a week or two.

He rocks! But when he did the "sour dough" joke i heard no laughs from anyone (including myself) and i had to remember there was no audience. I then figured if there were still people there in the audience there still would not be any laughs. crickets. yes...we all make mistakes as he said. ha ha
