This is a repost comment. This person and I have had email correspondence going with even more details. This was a copy of an original comment left below. I am a NC licensed nurse that contacted them through email. Met at their Airbnb this morning…as a nurse with 25 years in medical and recovery fields… the Lacy and her people there were not sober at 8am this morning and Im very disturbed. I only stayed 45 minutes but got enough of the picture to need to get away from them. Her boyfriend was definitely on meth or some kind of speed. Super dark and shady. Breaks my heart that they are taking money and using it to get high and yell about all they are doing. When in actuality they are just living off good people. I met the guy who bought them the Airbnb…. There’s more I can say but that’s plenty. Lacy I pray you find sobriety and don’t end up in jail for all this. Just stop lying… stop accepting money that should go to Samaritan Purse or other reputable helpers. It doesn’t matter what you say… or scream. As someone who has spent years living in a tent and under a tarp, I can tell you for a fact that having a small walled shelter is INFINITELY better and a major upgrade in quality of life and security. To anyone who says "this can't be the (or an) answer": I say go try living in a tent shelter yourself for an extended period of time, experience some severe weather, animals attacking you for your food, and then get back to us on how you feel after all that. Whether we call it a shed, a tiny-house, a shack, a hut... it doesn't matter one bit. It is a godsend for the people who are in need of shelter - especially at this time of year! Thank you so much for all that you've done and are doing for those displaced by this horrific event, and *on top of all that* for continuously keeping us updated on the situation.

@lifebeginswithaseed never thought of that. Definitely will keep that in mind for the future. Being homeless is something no one can describe how it affects the person as a whole unless they've experienced it themselves. Something about a roof, a wood or metal roof that helps center the mind. For some reason it's hard to do that in a tent or a standard vehicle. I'd have broken out into happy tears had I had a shed to call home. I did when I was gifted a small tent for spring,summer and early fall use and it was very helpful but I'm thankful for spare rooms, couches and basement cots in Wisconsin winters. Father always provided and there is never a day I am not Thankful for that.

For every person criticizing, there are 100+ who are amazed & humbled by what you’re doing. Living in sheds is a very big thing these days. I’ve watched many videos of sheds turned into tiny homes on KZbin - some as mother-in-law suites, and some as small houses for families. If there are people who can’t imagine that as a solution then they may be incredibly blessed to have never had to worry about being able to afford a house. Our country has serious problems with property taxes & those regulations that insist on a specific sq footage. Keep listening to God and listening to your heart. I did hurricane cleanup in Florida some ten years ago and I saw people in tents. They lived in tents to remain on their own land. They were there until they got back in their homes. Your shed works well for now. They are clearly temporary but they allow people to remain on their property and work to restore their lives. Thank you for sticking with your integrity, Stephanie! That live stream really put me off. It screamed scammer and manipulation, to me at least. The older that I've gotten, the more I've learned to trust my instincts and follow any intense gut reactions to people/situations. Life experience teaches you to identify red flags and untrustworthy/harmful people pretty quickly. Especially such blatant red flags and a disinterest in everyone/everything else going on - unless there was a moment to hype herself up. Lacey said a lot of words but said absolutely nothing of substance in that live stream. For someone claiming to do so much important work... she didn't seem to know who she helped, the process of what was being done, or any idea of how she helped. She refused to answer any questions or be direct in her statements. Anything that she did answer or directly state was solely to prop up her image, how good she is, and why she should be celebrated. Super manipulative in attaching herself to people that she just met and trying to make you out to be her best friend. She was exceptionally manipulative with making massive mysterious claims, but she only she could know the evidence and people involved... but dont worry, she assures us that all these people will eventually come out to tell us how great she is and that she was involved. Repeatedly sharing her phone number on a random live stream of someone you just met. *_That's just a few of the red flags; there are so many more._* I'm so glad you saw through her behavior and blatant manipulation. Don't let people like this drag down your efforts.

I saw her being interviewed on the real estate mindset channel and she seemed to me (my degree is in mental health) , to be overly talkative about something that I'm still just trying to process the destruction. The trauma these victims are having to deal with, in more ways than one...is heartbreaking. I live in Bryson City NC, and barely missed the hurricane's wrath. I hesitated to write this comment, because I don't want to come across as a "victim", asking for help or pity. I just want to share my story. My entire house burned down with 45 years of valuables and heirlooms..all of my belongings, gone. I'm blessed to have saved my dogs and myself. Unfortunately, I didn't have home owners insurance. I'm a 70 year old widow with a small monthly social security check. I was lost at what to do. I had no extra savings so my options were few. I went and looked at these "sheds", and since it required just the first month rent (rent to own), I chose one that I could afford. It's tiny, yes..12 by 20 feet. But I've made it into a cozy warm shelter, putting up insulation on my own with my staple gun..I couldn't afford paneling so I used bolts of material and sheets I bought from the local thrift store. I made a little kitchen and bought a used fridge. I was given a stove top and that works great for me. My fire was over 2 years ago and I'm still on the property, with my little house (too close to the remnants of the burned house but it's a small fortune to have anyone demolish it and haul it away) It's funny how others' perceptions and beliefs are so lack of empathy. It doesn't bother me anymore how judgemental some people are. I live in love and light, so it's hard for me to imagine how these people sleep at night. There's no compassion. They assume that I have lower standards because I live in a "shed". My house was a quaint mountain barn style house with a balcony on the 2nd floor. I'm on 2.5 acres and would love to have this little house have a real bathroom with a place to shower. I'm truly blessed that I experienced the trauma that I had. It opened my eyes to the fact that so many so called friends I had, were there for emotional support for about a month. I wish others knew that these life changing challenges stay with us our entire life..not just forgotten with a little time. I'm a different person than I was. I'm grateful for the morning sun, the air I breathe and the roof over my head. My ego isn't important anymore, I am authentic and real. My solitude and the "hermit" mode I went into has opened my heart to what life truly is. Why can't people let you live your life without trying to fit you into their little mold, of what they believe it should be? I'm not complaining. I do the best I can do. I'm very private and keep to myself. But just the other day, someone "Anonymous", called and reported me to the health department. I have 13 days to remove 2 old torn up campers from my property or connect them to a septic system. I'm doing the best I can to comply but I doubt I can pull off a miracle. My guess is they'll make me leave my little house or hit me with a hefty fine. Which wouldn't help the situation, for anyone. Prayers and faith will reign, and I have no lack of either. I'm sorry this is such a long comment. I can't understand why some souls are incapable of putting themselves in other people's shoes. I say to myself, "Let me do me, and you, do you. Thank you for letting me reflect. Your videos are amazing and full of so much knowledge. I love gardening! And as far as the red flags she gives off, I know, our intuition will never let us down. ❤❤❤

@HHB884 ohhh my!!! That's so traumatizing! Some people are truly bored with the path they chose that it just makes their insecure ego feel more superior. It's really sad. It's so obvious. And good for you, living off grid!! So many foods, containers, processed with who knows what, everything, it seems must be looked into before consuming. It's a crazy world when some, want to put a stop to anyone living their lives as they feel fit. I, for one, am very happy that we have Kennedy bringing light to what our food and drinks contain. You're very courageous, I'm hoping I can restrain my thoughts if I go to court over this. It's been a hardship for me, and if I had the means to do it the way they need it done (red tape, inspections) it certainly would have been done. This platform has helped me balance my mind, just getting it off my chest helps. By the way, I actually am thinking about selling myself. I just know though, renting something is out of the question with 4 dogs. I'd have to find a small piece of land with a well and septic in place...I wouldn't be able to pay a large mortgage. To be honest, the second time I watched this channel you were talking about building the tiny houses and I immediately gave it a thumbs down and didn't watch another video of yours for a bit. I have seen the tiny home hellscapes they have built as a "solution" to housing prices going insane. Just buy a shoebox to live in... So I assumed you were one of the many influencers pushing tiny home living. Now that I have watched you more, I realize I was wrong about you. You truly are a gift to your community. We're about the same age, and your drive is inspiring. Though I get exhausted just watching all you're doing. You have an amazing amount of energy. And the tiny homes are definitely better than a tent in the winter, as a temporary solution. Remember to take care of yourself. Sending love your way.💚

Keep your head up over there! Im certain that if those same people found themselves homeless they would be thrilled to have a tiny house or shed home.

I'm an expate living in Australia. It is incredibly common for Aussies to build a shed on their land FIRST and then live in it while they build the house they will eventually call "home." It will have some sort of plumbing, usually a toilet and sink, which when it becomes a "shed" for real is very handy. And often there will be a coonara wood heater, (an enclosed fire place) so it can be toasty and warm! It makes a lot of sense. If funds are tight, you have a place to live where you own the land, instead of paying rent. You are living there, which is convenient for spending long, random hours working on the build. You're already home so not far to travel when the work day is finished and you are exhausted. Plus, you are able to make improvements to the land and benefit straight away from them, whether a vegetable garden or adding livestock or fruit trees etc. The Aussies are on to something here. The rest of the world should pay attention!

The 44 yr old man with cancer, someone needs to get him signed up for social security disability. He would certainly qualify. Then he would have money coming in to go towards whatever he needs.
@kontrygrll01amerika54Ай бұрын
Believe me when you file to get Social Security Disability it takes at least 3 years to get approved. Those who think the sheds are just wrong, need a history lesson. Everyone having their 'own space' is a new and mostly first world concept. I'm 65 and up through my grown children's younger years, the family shared one bathroom, many had a tub but no shower. Siblings shared a room. Siblings shared a bed. Elementary aged siblings shared a bath and if it was drought and wells going dry, siblings shared bath water with girls first, then boys. Mama took a bath, then because Daddy was dirtier, he used Mama's bath water. Nobody felt abused nor did anyone feel poor because we have a bathroom in the house, everything is clean. Our ancestors had one room and it was the size of one modern bedroom. Even then, it may have started out the size of a modern bathroom. If everyone can squeeze in and sleep dry and warm, then that is something to be grateful for.

I just want to say that Homes for Hope is a very legitimate project, I (Charlie) have met Jonathan with the church Stephanie refers to... (brought them some mattresses for the sheds) building full homes is truly their next big step (and I believe they can do it efficiently). As far as the legitimacy of others, claims, etc. I know what I have seen, but take what I have heard for what it is, I understand the emotions that often exacerbate a story and what I have seen is a bit overwhelming... so I understand the flow of information and how it gets a little wild. I know many volunteers doing great things who have relied on independent donations to take action, but there are always people who get caught up in mischief (intentional or not). At least with a church or other nonprofit, there's someone (a board) looking over the shoulder of others involved. That said, I don't believe it has to be "Big Brother" watching over 501(c)3s and (c)4s... just make sure you do your homework... and if you do expect a tax right off, it does have to be IRS approved. Several people mentioned in this video...I have not seen their actual work... I have heard of them... personally I would want to see what they are actually doing. Right now the financial need is SO great for the victims it's a bit difficult to imagine donated funds going to individual sustainability beyond what is necessary. So, long comment shortened, although I don't think I would call someone out (because I just don't know), I do share the concern of @theaeroponictowerchannel in general and can vouch for her Homes for Hope project.

Lacey would never tell her where to do the sampling and their time there was a major waste of talent. Honestly, I can't fathom the thought of sleeping in a tent in the cold winter months. I'd be humbled and grateful to have a tiny home! There are some people who don't realize the reality of "homeless", and they look down on the abilities of volunteers who actually offer a means of shelter, because "they'd" never want that (until it happens to them). It's like asking for a bigger lifeboat when the titanic is sinking. They don't "get it"! I won't name call anyone, but there is real evil in the world, and it lurks all around us to demean good people with huge hearts. All we can do is put on the armor of God, ignore those who insult and pray for them. Deception and lies come from the darkness.
