This is my fav painting vid ever. Not only have you got great tips, but I like the way you remind people to not make the whole thing punishing and that you point out where you think you've gone wrong and how you move forward. Wicked vid from a top guy. Banging.

@@LizardofDoom Been in the hobby since 1989 (fuck I'm getting old!) and so much of the hobby and the fanbase is so dry and pretentious. So, great to enjoy your vids of someone who is clearly bang into 40K, got top-quality advice and obviously a wicked person. Keep up the good work - having these vids play whilst I'm in the office is making the day way better.

Hey man just found your channel and I love it! I agree with others saying that you make painting feel way more approachable. Seeing you hit a wall, make a mistake or even reach your limit is super refreshing in that its relatable. I has made me feel less stressed/anxious when approaching my own models. I also enjoy hearing your thought process while painting as it really illustrates the whole process. Keep at it! 100% can't wait to see more content from you!

to be honest i like the effect you have done with the glass orb - it looks like steam or vapour cloud at the top of the bulb which is accurate with the bubbling liquid under pressure and potentially boiling

Name - Xarcon Crass Lore Snippet - Power. That is the only guiding ethos of Xarcon. He knows that if he is more powerful, the omissiah will bless him with the ability to better serve. Willing to do anything in this pursuit, he has pulled all his favors built over his very long life to get here. He is galled to need the help of this flesh-bag Sirus, but this task necessitates the use of meat shields. Luckily, the hazards of this quest mean that Xarcon is unlikely to need to tie up loose ends once he has his prize.

12:30- I honestly thought you were going to say you didn’t like it because yes, the liquid in the bottle is a straight line but when you place the model on a flat surface it’s not perfectly horizontal. In my opinion it still looks good regardless I understand what you meant on how you could have done a better job and I can definitely see what you’re issues with it is. But because of my lack of knowledge and experience with painting “glass” objects I don’t really know how to do it! So if you have a different video that you did it the way you wanted or you know of a video that has it in it could you point me in the right direction? Either way I think you are doing a great job as of now regardless!

Interesting, I think the best way I’ve done before is a zenithal prime with black legion contrast, then a dark bluey colour like stegadon scale green as a thin edge highlight and then a really light blue for spot highlights on corners and top edges

Dear Mr. Lizard, if you'll allow this non-wardollies bit of nerdery for a moment, I'd like to ask about your microphone... At 2:10 your mic (looks like a blue yeti?) is in shot and seems a good distance from your mouth-hole (which I assume is the origin of your meat-noises* in this video). Is that the mic used in this shot, and did your audio track require much/any work in post? Sincerely, Kris of Mars, Amateur Sound Nerd Professional Avoids Painting My Models Nerd. Edit for clarity... * "meat-noises" was meant to be an amusing way of phrasing "words" (kinda riffing on the short story They're Made Out of Meat by Terry Bisson). It was only hours after our exchange I realized it might have seemed like I was having a go at the quality :( As noted below I was actually looking for pointers, since I've got a similar set-up for my voice-over work, and was impressed with the result. I honestly thought there might have been a more expensive mic we couldn't see :D I sometimes forget that my brand of dead-pan dry delivery often fails to translate to pure text :/
@LizardofDoom7 ай бұрын
Hiya mate check out the more recent content and the audio is a fair bit better quality, it’s all about the pre set up to record rather than editing it afterwards. These days the only after editing I do is take out horrible asmr breathing noises.
