History repeats itself earlier in 90's till 2005 history as an optional was very popular but its preference decrease over a period of time but now upsc asking questions from ancient and medival in prelims and also in mains like tech of Delhi sultanate will once again compell students to read history and they should.

i read ancient India book for upsc but some particular terms from where upsc asked questions were not in the book like Jainism buddhism script and vast knowledge about later Buddhist monks or jains and same with maurya rule too terms were not mentioned in 'the ancient india'.... so where to prepare those terms?! should i follow some other resources for ancient india?!

Sir, do we need to memorise the exact latitudes of the major Indian cities or being able to locate them roughly suffices? I saw a few prelims questions in the Indian Geography section that were asking the comparison of latitudes and longitudes of so and so (two) cities and wherein we have the choose the correct statement(s) out of the given three statements.
