When me and my friends were watching the premiere live, the Bartre montage absolutely killed us. One of those magical things where even if you didn't know much about FE or this channel, it was still ludicrously funny, especially with the SLOW START graphic. Also when you screamed in despair "IT'S NOT FAIR", really resonated with us. 10/10 segment, you should totally upload it as its own video, it's way too good dude. I think the Nidos better fit the Cain/Abel trope. You got one offensively based, one defensively based. And unlike a Jaegen, the Nidos don't really fall off. In fact, as more TM options come along mid-game, they get even stronger. I think Butterfree, and if you wanna be nice, Beedrill, are better suited to represent Jaegens. You get them to full Evo Super early, and they carry you through the early to mid-game. But like a Jaegen, they fall off hard in the mid-to-late game.

@miquelgarcia2946 I think Beedrill is like the early game Armor Knight that's really good early game just by nature of what the enemies are, but as soon as good enemies show up, they reveal themselves to be trash. Beedrill's the Draug of Pokemon. This does not apply to Oswin. Oswin is really good at what he does. He's just held back by his movement. Geodude is a proper Oswin.

There is one small upside for Light Magic in FE7, its the only type of weapon in the entire game to get a sacred weapon that's not Character Locked. So while light magic sucks, putting Aureola on a unit like Lucius can turn them into a real powerhouse in the final chapter.

I finished a Hector mode run the other day. And wow, Raven was absolutely insane. I was rather disappointed with Lowen though. He wound up basically a tank with no damage output.

Didn't watch the whole video yet so idk where Lowen will end up but he's actually kinda bad DESPITE being in the best class in the game. His offensive stats are so low that he can't even one round FE7 enemies most of the time, and that's saying something

@@oscarcapac1786 Yeah, I was sorely disappointed. My idea was to have one user for each of the S-tier weapons in the finale. Kent didn't get many good levels early on, so Sain became my dedicated lance user, and since the fighters suck and I didn't bother training Lyn, I picked Lowen to get the axe. I don't recall at what level I promoted him, but I trained him up to lvl20 Paladin with S rank in axes, and used quite a few items on him to patch up his weaknesses, and he still couldn't one-round almost anyone.

I'm In the middle of my first HHM run, (at the chapter that Geitz joins, four fanged offense) and here are some thoughts on some of my units and their current performance. of course its not a general case, and everyone's playthrough will be different. Also, this is very very long, so if you dont want to read it, fair enough! I hope you have a nice day! I just like writing down my own experiences sometimes, is all. I did early promote sain, and he was pretty much literally a second marcus, like almost the exact same but much worse res. The res is unironically one of the things which contributes to marcus' place as the best unit, because the other cavs can sometimes struggle against too many mages. But i cant say no to a second marcus with better growths. But marcus has also been gaining great levels(currently lv9 with 20 str, 18 skill, 13 speed, 12 def, 11 res.). Im honestly surprised how giga-busted Marcus' stats are. Also, since i had lyn mode early sain and the other two cavs werent doing well, i did promote oswin, who really does have really good stats except move. He even has 12 speed, only 1 less than marcus, but he has 19 def. Pretty good, tbh, even if only for the first part of the maps. And has been doing really well. Basically marcus number 2.5, with less move. still pretty useful. My lyn is strength blessed, but has lowish skill (lv 17, 13 str, 15 skil, 19 speedl), has been doing surprisingly okay, in part due to the strength blessing. still doubles and kills a few things, and dodges axes pretty well, which can be kinda scary for the lance users to face. Does get a bit better with a florina support or an eliwood support, both of which increase her damage - and at one A support, +3 damage, but doubling so +6 is honestly pretty nice. Maybe still 1 star, maybe 2, but is one of the 1 star units who i usually get a bit more out of than many higher ranked units. whereas florina has had somewhat low speed for a florina (19 speed at lv4 falco. Has 17 str with lyn mode energy ring though. Sometimes struggled to double, due to weight and unlucky speed, but is still fine. I have had her be absolutely cracked in other runs, being the best in the game for them. Still good here though. I honestly feel eliwood is worse than lyn, esp. If you do lyn mode. Sure he gets a mount eventually, but he doesnt even double most of the time... and at lv 14 only has 9 str and 14 speed. Maybe a little under average, but at least lyn doubles and can maybe ORKO a frail enemy. Eliwood cant even do that. Though the early levels in eliwood mode can actually help a bit, theres no reason to give them to him in hector mode, unless you go for Geitz, which I am. But still disappointed even though i expected little and have had him be okay on other runs, like eliwood hard. Hector has the most lopsided stats, at lv20 with 20 str, 20 def... but 9 speed. Still pretty good for this point of the game. My bartre is doing surprisingly okay, with 17 str, 14 skill, 13 def... if only 8 speed at lv 3 promo. somewhat early promo but still. And the early levels are atrocious, even versus fe7 enemies. He died or was nearly dead way more than is reasonable, and didnt even do much damage back - if he hit at all. I think you overestomate the accuracy of axes early game... though that might be the skill stats of their weilders. I have been disappointed in terms of hit rates a few times, mostly by bartre and hector. I think lances are still probably better tbh - enough accuracy to his things and also enough might to actually kill them. If an axe misses then it'll do 0 damage... and ive had that happen much more than I'd like in this run. Also i genuinely tried to use rebecca... but she was just too weak. A shame. Anyway, those were some experiences and thoughts.

I just don't know *why* they'd design her like this. My favorite character is Florina. I remember back in the day, when I was a stupid kid and played this, I lost her pretty early. Got stuck in some temple because my only "trained" unit was Marcus. Flash forward several years. Still know nothing about the game. Decided to fire it up as an adult. Florina was one of the only characters whose personality I remember, and I wanted to see if I could make her good. I mean, flying is cool, so having her powerful would probably be at least useful? She became my primary monster, a flying gun. And naturally, I used her to protect other more vulnerable units, rescuing and running them away. All in all, Florina is great. She's a gun. And a cab. A cab with a gun. Learning rescue shenanigans as I got just slightly better at the game, and learning her utility online with my own story, she's become a pet unit of mine.

Is Jafar way worse on Hector Hard mode than an initial playthrough? He basically carried me through the rest of the game when I got him, as long as I kept a healer to keep him at full, he won every engagement, and it isn't that every unit could do that.

Have to vouch for Rath. Bow's suck but there is a redeeming grace in he can use the Brave Bow at base with no-one else able to use it at that point and he comes right before Genesis which is the one chapter where Bows are good because it's all promoted units with good stats meaning avoiding counters is better while you also only have the Brave Bow as a brave weapon at that point, which is important for later. Later on you are usually countering promoted Magic units through walls which Rath is able to do quite reliably too Pair with Fila's Might and you get to have Rath either delete an enemy that turn since he doesn't have to worry about doubling the enemies with high speed thresholds while also having good hit rates because Bows or you can counter through a wall and one round while doing this at base with just a little extra support. A little fun extra is having the status avoids the other magic users from putting Rath to sleep so it's one of the chapters where you really do want to consider using the rings instead of dancing. It's a lot of fun and by the end of it if you really wanted to, he's usually able to promote because of all the promoted enemies and can counter with Swords now, but really this is the best thing he can do and in Lyn mode he is WAY worse because he can't do it at base since for some reason they nerf his Bow rank. Still, makes a hard chapter a lot easier for me at least and its a fun thing to do from my experiences.

I've been replaying Fe7 for who knows how long know and let me tell you, doing runs actively trying to not use Marcus is certainly an experience. This is most apparent on chapter 15/16. Without Marcus its a struggle to grab the chests at the end without losing the Knight's crest. So hearing that whole Marcus skit sure did give me a good laugh.

My friend Joe and I got FE 7 right when it came out when we were in 6th grade. We would just talk about this game ENDLESSLY during recess and made our own ranking list. Hilariously enough, we both agreed that Canas was the best character because he was the only guy cool enough to learn dark magic. Luna crits on the dragon for 90 damage, bro!!!! We also thought Jaffar was amazing because he was a badass in the story. Seeing the one-hit kill animation was enough to put him in S tier forever.

Pretty good tier list ! You rate flying utility really highly which makes sense, I really hate Florina though : each time I use her, even with Lyn mode, she ends up being terrible. She's just not durable enough to perform well on enemy phase, which is what you want in the game. Lots of terrain to ferry units across though so I agree with the rating The only nitpick I have is that Lowen is pretty bad. It's not just that he's boring to use : his growth are actually too low to one round FE7 enemies long term. He's just a weird mobile tank that can't one round anything, similar to FE9 Oscar but even worse. Still worth using for the memes, his portrait is just hilarious I would also put Sain in S because of the lyn mode knight crest exploit. Sain has crazy good stats overall, his profile is better than Kent. Watch him cap strength at like level 5 paladin lol Please keep doing those FE tier lists, they are very fun to watch 😊

They have high mobility, canto and weapon triangle control, it's hard to completely suck with all this utility Kinda like Alec and Noish in Genealogy who are absolutely terrible but still always worth using just because they have a horse 😂

Cheese, just finished my first hhm iron man. Of all the top tier units iost along the way you would be surprised to hear that Wil of all units prevailed until the very end. I saved over the last chapter so cant pull his stats but str, skill, speed were about 18. Def and res were about 12. Consider this my formal recommendation to promote Wil to 1.25 stars

There are FE (both actual and technically not FE (looks at Kaga Saga)) games where not having 1-2 range access doesn't really matter all that much. Guy's statline is the premier Navarre shit and Navarre himself is decent in FE11 and probably going to be your best Hero in FE3 Book 2 as an example. However, this is game where 1-2 range access makes it or breaks it just cuz the enemies in general have enough range mixture unlike say Gaiden/SoV (when 80% of the enemies are just 1 range blobs), FE3, TRS (Julia is bad because her strength is way too shaky, not because she doesn't have access to an early op prf (if she had strength, she'd be below Shigen and Vega yes but she wouldn't be nearing bottom of the barrel like she is now)), etc. What I'm saying is that if you ever play one of the Kaga saga games on the channel it will be a fucking ride lol

Farina I'll argue that Farina is a 4 star unit. She's held back by her cost a tad and you need to slow your roll a bit but her chapter is primed for taking a few turns to train up units already and she can easily get to a high if not capped level off the monks. Her cost is actually mitigated since if you're not playing for rank you can sell Dart's Ocean Seal and afford a way better unit easily; Dart's availability is a lot better but you have plenty of manpower on the Dread Isle and he doesn't really contribute more than your current band can.

Matthew is a God as an assassin. My best Assassin was a 65HP Matthew with like 3 maxed stats. No one's been able to kill him in 12 years in the arena yet! My friends and I have tested him...vigourously. Nothing would hit him. It was glorious. He carried my playthrough!

Raven always turns out to be incredible for me. He's like a sword master with actual good attack power and crazy good HP. Only downside is his luck. Guy is my favorite unit in the game, but about half the time he has great strength and other times he can barely finish enemies.

There are a few characters I'd rate a star higher or lower, but that's always a given. None that I disagree with by 2 stars though. Overall very good tier list, and not because I agree with a lot of it, you also explained your reasons really well. (Just to put it out, I'd put Hector at 3, because he is actually very good at the early chapters even if he falls off hard. Jaffar at 2 because he can actually deal with the Valkyres reasonably well and Heath at 4 because he joins lateish and you feel the lack of stats more in HHM. He is much better in all other modes.)
