I used to work for ACT. It was just myself and Tim that operated the company. Amazing to see where our products ended up. I believe your carbon fibre window trims were also made by us.

@@RobsCars did you have to remove the engine to install the headers?
@RobsCars
@RobsCars Жыл бұрын
@@AaronsEccentricGarageI personally didn't do it, but I understand that you need a complete ACT system, as where the act headers drop down to the mid section the coupling is different to the standard exhaust. You should be able to get them in from the top then join them underneath at said coupler/mid section. It's a lot of jiggery-pokery but pretty sure the engine stays Insitu. Perhaps have a chat with Tim at ACT he is a lovely bloke, and is happy to assist. 👍

Aaron, you are simply nuts for taking a Cerbera to the US. Big respect. Back here in the UK we struggle to keep these cars on the road as locals. I've said before, I think you have a good car. It will kick you in the bollocks at some time, but that's just what happens. My Cerbera also has a P22 reg. plate, which doesn't really mean anything except that it was registered between September 1996 and August 1997. So, in the UK it has to have a 'P' plate to denote it is a 1996/7 car.

Thanks for the compliment! That's a great tid bit of info about the number plate. I had no idea that had any significance.
@cerbie70
@cerbie70 2 жыл бұрын
@@AaronsEccentricGarage OK boring info now. UK number plates. I'll begin from 1963. We used the alphabet to identify the registration year of vehicles. From September 1963 the last letter on the plate would be (A), Sept 1964 (B) and so on. When we reached Sept. 1983 the date letter was moved to the first letter on the plate. Yours starts with a (P) so it was registered as said above. Then, in Sept 2001 we went to a new system where the plate would change every 6 months. Number plates start with two letters (which is like a Zip code for the part of the country) then there are two numbers which date the car. '51' was Sept 2001. Then '02' was March 2002, then '52' was Sept 2002. Basically, March would reflect the actual year and then in Sept. they add 50 to make it a Sept. reg. Right now we have '22' plates and in a couple of days there will be new cars with a '72' plate. Some letters are not used because the can be confused with numbers, such as (I) because it looks like a (1) and (O) because it looks like a (0). (Q) was used for single made vehicles such as unique fabricated home built vehicles. There's a whole world of personal plates, but they have to have been issued by the Dept. of transport. So people will pay ten of thousands to buy the plate which reads just as 'F1' or 'P1' it's more likely someone can find a plate which reads 'JA55 MAN' or find a plate 'B123 DAN' for Daniel or Brian Daniels. Someone with a TVR may have found and bought a plate which reads 'C450 TVR'. Lastly, you may put a plate on your car which denotes the actual original year registered OR earlier, but you may not put a plate on your car which would denote that it is younger than the car actually is. Told you this would be boring.

Prior to buying the car, I had a full service performed. I made sure to read as much as possible, talk to mechanics with experience with the AJP8, and talk to numerous owners. I'm confident that the engine itself will continue to be great. Now the car's electronics??? That's a whole different conversation lol
