@@Aboutkoi yo mate, when i feed color enchancer to my koi. The first thing i notice that there is a specs like ginrin scale popping. Is that normal? Is that a good thing?
@Aboutkoi4 жыл бұрын
Ginrin scales normally should not be effected when feeding color food. Do you mean the ginrin scales become more visible?
@pidsme95494 жыл бұрын
@@Aboutkoi i mean i have a showa and i see 5 mirror like scales after 1 week. Like a bright dot on the scale.
@Aboutkoi4 жыл бұрын
Hmm, I don't think that is due to the color food you are providing your Koi. As far as I know this will not have an effect on ginrin/shiny scales. It might be something else? Although I am not sure what it can be and why it appears

The orange ogon looks perfect (uniformly vivid persimmon color, completely even scale alignment, clear forehead, highly reflective fins). Who is the breeder (Maruhiro? Izumiya? etc...)?
@Aboutkoi4 жыл бұрын
It had a nice appearance, I can only agree. The breeder is Izumiya. Probably the best breeder you can go go for Yamabuki Ogon
@clarencemagtoto27784 жыл бұрын
@@Aboutkoi For Yamabuki Ogons, Izumiya is clearly at the top of the league (the closest rival is still a distant second) with them having the same golden yellow tone as canary birds. However, I didn't know that he also produces orange ogons (as far as i know, Maruhiro is the only full-time producer of orange ogons). For platinum ogons, Chogoro is definitely #1 (with their clear, pure white body color). About Hikari Muji-mono breeds like Yamabuki and Platinum Ogons, I actually prefer the plain-scaled forms as ginrin makes them appear like "overkill"....
@Aboutkoi4 жыл бұрын
For sure, Izumiya has been breeding Yamabuki for decades at a really high level. I like how his Yamabuki are really light coloured at the age of 1 or 2 if you have the better quality ones. They have the least chance to become dark yellow/orange. Let's hope this Yamabuki will stay light yellow without any orange spots on it! Chogoro is indeed the number one place to go for Platinum Ogon. But I have to say a lot of them become a bit creme/light yellow colour here in Europe. 5-10 years back Marudo was also producing very, very white Platinum Ogon. However these usually didn't grow that large.
@clarencemagtoto27784 жыл бұрын
@@Aboutkoi Concerning Izumiya's yamabuki ogons, I prefer the medium/canary to dark/golden yellow shades resembling the color of canary birds over the light/lemon yellow tones (provided they don't develop any orange dot/s); however, if what was originally a darker yellow yamabuki ogon later becomes an orange ogon, I have no issues with that (provided the fish has a uniform tone of orange over its entire body). For Chogoro's platinum ogons, those tosai with a slightly-bluish shade of white have greater tendency to become and/or remain clear, pure white in the long term rather than turn silver or creme in color (it appears the development trend of Chogoro's platinum ogons there in Europe also holds true here in the Philippines, so it probably attributable to genetics).
@Aboutkoi4 жыл бұрын
When completely orange in one tone, it indeed still could be beautiful. I would still be disappointed a little bit though since I bought it to become a nice Yamabuki. It seems like most of the Chogoro platinum will develop a little bit of creme color when becoming older, which is the point I personally do not really really like them. Now I have to admit I am initially not really a big fan of Platinum Ogon as well.

Please guide me that how may I can import Japanese koi from Japan to India?
@ultimatefishkeeping4 жыл бұрын
If they put bubble wrap in the boxes, then the Koi would be less likely to sustain injuries from hitting the sides of the boxes. Those are some really gorgeous Koi. Thank you very much for sharing Sir, I always appreciate it. #15th #Like is up. Stay safe and take care.
@Aboutkoi4 жыл бұрын
Thank you! You are right, in the box with Gin Matsuba (the whiter looking Koi) in this video were bubble wraps. But still I think it damages the nose a little bit when they bump into the box. However it are just minor injuries that are healed very quickly. Thanks for your compliment!

Sometimes koi's colour changes a little bit due to the water difference in comparison to Japan.
@Aboutkoi4 жыл бұрын
That is correct! For example Yamabuki Ogon that you saw in this video, it will surely become more intensive yellow in a short period of time. I think next summer in an outside pond that Yamabuki Ogon will be already deep yellow.

So the plastic bags and rubber bands are not reused? I saw this in a video of another dealer in the US, so I thought he was special. Is this the norm for you hobbyists as well?
@Aboutkoi4 жыл бұрын
These bags are not reused indeed, the rubber bands most probably are. I'm not sure, I think this is just one of the easier ways to take the Koi out of the bag quickly without releasing the water.
@atsuminaoki99104 жыл бұрын
@@Aboutkoi That's right. It's not very nice to point out that everything is different every time. In my experience, I was not accustomed to the sight of suddenly stabbing with a cutter... I'm just personally confused. I'll try to be more careful. 失礼しました!!
