Can you tell me more about the engine, i've been looking at buying one of these and i can't really find a lot of info on it, what does it compare to, any US cars come with the same one. right now i've got a 1994 rav4 that was imported and it has a 3s-fe and i'm told that the beams engine is basically the same thing. Anyways, can you help me out on more information

Saying its basically the same is within realm. I'm not overly familiar with them. I know they do not have a direct North American variant. I know that Yamaha had a major part in producing this engine (head specifically) ... which helps higher end power band . It still is considered a 3SGE black top.

I went from NA-T IS300, Aristo swapped IS300, to supercharged beams fresh from Japan. One of the supercharger belts popped after 30 miles so I don’t have much of an opinion yet but I like it so far.
