You do realize before she even met Barack Obama she was studying to be a lawyer.... in HARVARD. She has independently passed legislation and is an accomplished career woman that has dedicated her life to numerous social programs that encourage healthy lifestyles and provide resources to the underprivileged. If you don't think she's proved her worth a million times over, that has to do with your own sexist inability to see a woman independent of her husband's status, it has no reflection on her.

But there are jobs that a man or woman would be better doing. For example a fireman: say you were trapped under a heavy beam whilst a building was on fire then the likelihood is a man would be able to lift it off you to safety and a woman (in many circumstances, but not all) not be able to. I'm not saying just women shouldn't be firefighters but also physically weak men too. Obviously this would exclude a lot of women though as men are physically stronger. The same could be said for CCTV operators. Women have better peripheral vision than men, this is a scientific fact (the same as a man is physically stronger) therfore when it comes to CCTV operators it should be predominantly women doing that job. Again, I'm not saying men can't do it but due to peripheral vision being better (in general) in women then it would naturally exclude most men. These are our differences, they should be celebrated and put to use when we can use them to our advantage not disregarded due to equality quotas. The thing is we should all be treated equal but we are not equal from birth and we should try to focus on our strengths and not so much on our weaknesses. Rather than pretending it's an equal playing field, when in reality it never is. It's good to support others but we should push them to follow the path their greatest strengths make easiest. Rather than fighting the way down a path that in all honesty wasn't meant for them in the first place as unfortunate as that could be for them. Which if done, in the end could mean putting other people potentially in harms way just so they can be satisfied...
@lauraphelan5812
@lauraphelan5812 7 жыл бұрын
Awakening to oneness I think that was referring more to jobs that aren't based on specific strengths or weaknesses. If two lawyers, one man and one woman, can do their job equally well, then they should have an equal chance of getting a job in that field.

But why even bring up the gender when it's more about the physical capability? Because like you said, though it is less common there are still many women strong enough to be firefighters. And the same goes for any job women might be more naturally capable of doing. The speakers were focusing on when people refer to a job as a "man's job", which hints that there should be no women working in a certain field. not when there are more men in the field.
@Refulgent_Rascal
@Refulgent_Rascal 7 жыл бұрын
1emmyk Yes good point. If that is what she specifically means then of course you're correct. But she didn't specify what she meant by "man's job" so the term she stated is subjective. Whether this means it should be mainly men or only men is debatable. However, a lot of feminists view this in the context I explained above. Which negates logic and rationale.

Samantha Cooper Her "ending childhood obesity" lead to schools throwing out more food than ever before. I worked in a school, I saw it, I know. Despite her changing school lunches, the obesity rate has not changed by more than a smidgen. Turns out it isn't the school's responsibility to help kids eat healthy, it is the parent's responsibility. Advocating for girls rights in other countries while supporting abortion in our own, not what I would call a good legacy. She was there because of her husband, no other reason.

She launched Let's move! a program to combat childhood obesity, got the School Lunch program passed providing children from low income families with reduced cost and free meals at school, helped with launching Joining Forces, a support program for veterans, and in 2014 she launched the ‘Reach Higher’ initiative which aims at inspiring young people in America to continue their education past high school, in 2015 she launched Let Girls Learn, a government-wide program to help girls stay in school. Generally, has done a lot. Those are just from while in office. She also was Assistant to the Mayor in 1991 and then served as the assistant commissioner of planning and development for the City of Chicago, and in 1993 she became Executive Director for the Chicago Office of Public Allies. She also served as the Associate Dean of Student Services at the University of Chicago in 1996. She has accomplished a lot. Likely much more than you will. Stop being a moron. Oh, and she has a net worth of about 12 million. Sources: www.thefamouspeople.com/profiles/michelle-obama-6078.php www.whitehouse.gov/administration/first-lady-michelle-obama

And many others! When the woman says she thinks woman can do aaaaall sorts of things, she is mostly thinking of "nice and clean" stuff. Oh woman can clear the sewages and do dirty jobs as well... They are in denial of our nature, biological and cultural.

@@steveroman3729nah that’s way too much of a generalization to make about all women. Humanity has such a wide range of emotions. But it is true that Michelle Obama wouldn’t have been in the white house if her husband didn’t get elected lol

@@4reptar207 Right, because the falling birth rates are totally not because of the delusional high standards that women now have for men, lol.

Women don't want soft, weak men. They want men who have the confidence and bravado to do what they want and say what they mean.

I'd imagine many audience members recognized him and knew the cameras were there for Impractical Jokers. You could tell they were expecting him to say outlandish things.

I love how Q will always somehow make it better for us but worse for him. “The fact that you’re not” bit reminds me of the time he was manning a sample table in a store, when he just randomly said “feeding time at the zoo” and the other jokers lost it 😂😂😂
