Impressions of Chanel N°5 EDP, Eau Première, L’Eau & EDT

That red edition was so stunning. Love a red bottle. I too find many of Chanel's aldehydic perfumes to be quite aloof, very hauteur, a little standoffish, regal, ice princess like. I think if you do have to create a flanker to such a legendary perfume, Eau Premiere is a very well done one for the modern times. It still retains the chic aura of the original and smells leagues more sophisticated than most of what you'd find at the department store.

Fragrantica lists the original version of Chanel No. 5 Eau Premiere as 2008. I was gifted a bottle of it from a friend. Honestly, when I received it I was sad, because I thought I'd have to pass it along, but I found the only version of Chanel No. 5 that suits me at all. I don't it find it cold, but more like a sparkling amber sunshine on a wide prairie. It's all the aldehydes I can take in this style, and I find they don't overwhelm or stick around too long. What I mostly get is the beautiful sandalwood drydown, which feels like it might be Mysore. That seems like a very late date for authentic Mysore, but who knows. Maybe it's just a synthetic that my brain associates with it. In any case, it is perfect on hot, sunny days and I don't think of it as "upper class". That's not really what I'm looking for. In fact, I'm usually wearing it with shorts, a tank, and a linen shirt. :) Happy Sniffing as always, Sebastian! I always enjoy your content and views on perfumery and life. May you be well!

You are very right! I missed that info! 🤦🏻‍♂️ Interesting they mention that it was a 2008 release but was going to be available in October 2007! I love how this perfume has so many different facets! This is the favorite perfume of one of my friends, and to her, it’s all about the ylang-ylang, which I barely detect. Hi, Sebastian! Lovely seeing your reviews, whatever you talk about ) I own only L'eau version, also in this red bottle which is stuuuuunnniiinnnngggggg!!! And it's my favorite out of all Chanel 5's! I love wearing it in May - once weather become warmer but not too hot, so around +18+20 it opens magical on my hair! I also own 7,5ml of Parfum but wear it maybe once per year - just to refresh scent memory as I don't feel it matches my personality as much as L'eau.

Thanks for sharing your love for this masterpiece of a perfume, I always loved no 5 no matter what others said about it being old school, it really feels like home for me and I am more of a Guerlain girl so that says a lot ! Will try l’eau now since I never really bothered with that version, but you make me curious ❤

After trying the L’Eau again now during the video, the love grew much stronger! I really enjoyed it before, but now it became a LOVE! Please do share your thoughts about it when you get to try it! I’d love to hear what you’ll think of it. 🥰

Is Eau Premiere the same as Eau de Parfum? If not, which of these two is stronger

They’re different. N°5 EDP is stronger than Eau Premiere. EP was worked to be a lighter version of the EDP in general, fresher and “effervescent”. ☺️

I know wealthy women who will buy luxrul replicas. The main reason they give is that they simply understand the value of money and don't want to spend too much on a bag...especially a trendy one. They do, however, spend a lot of money on fine jewelry and other things.

I’ve seen that too. It’s more common than many realize. I’m not a fan of anything counterfeited so personally speaking I wouldn’t buy any replica of anything. I’d rather not have that product than owing a replica for personal reasons and believes. But that’s me. People do what’s best for them. :)
