I think I overdosed on patchouli in my 20's and find patch dominant scents challenging now. All the same, i still enjoyed your review- and the bottle is gorgeous!

Thank you!! :D How was the patchouli you overdosed on? Is the current stuff super relatable to it or not necessarily? One of the things I find fascinating about this specific perfume is how the chocolate is worked in here, especially because chocolate-y can be a facet of patchouli. So it feels like this is a multi-faceted patchouli. Let me know if you’d like to try it! 🥰

@sebastianfurtado3740 I wore Patchouli oil from the Body Shop, Lush Karma and Thierry Mugler Angel! It seems like nowadays I can only tolerate Chanel's version of Patchouli and that still needs to be a certain mood for me.

When my aunty died we found a bottle of this among her things. It is the Panthere de Cartier parfum 30ml with the black panthers flanking the sides of the bottle. I remember my aunty would wear this on Sundays to church services.

How did I miss this review! We tend to have similar good taste!! I LOVE this fragrance. Every time I wear it, I am reminded I want to wear it again and again! Oh my, I wrote that and, then you basically said the same thing! This is a unique and addictive fragrance, Signature Worthy. I may stop shopping for others. Purple is the color that vibes for me. This is just addictive. Sensual.

A few days ago I picked this bottle up and said “I should talk about this” not remembering I had already. 😂 It’s SO SOO good!! I got the shower gel recently! It’s simply amazing. Especially when it’s infused with the hot steam!

Any idea if the Les Legendaires EDP is any good and how it differs from the red or bee bottle? I missed the boat on the vintage and red ones 😭 They were cheaper just a few years ago. So expensive now. Even the bee bottles. I remember trying the red bottle EDT in a perfume shop. Didn't like it then. But I brought the tester strip home. And hours later, there was this beautiful smell. Wish I'd gone back to get it. Am so curious about the EDP. But it seems like Les Legendaires is the cheapest (not in my country) and most accessible.

Unfortunately I haven’t smelled the current version in the Les Legendaires yet. But the experience I’ve had with all perfumes I’ve smelled in this current presentation has been nothing but great! I really love all the current iterations of the perfumes I have smelled in Les Legendaires. Chant d’Arome, Liu, Apres L’londee, L’Instant Magic, Vol de Nuit. I can think of those from the top of my head and really love them all.

Wow I'm surprised by your take on M Iris... I WANTED to l love it best but it's by far my least.... It's far too sweet and gourmand to me... Overtakes the iris in my opinion... The new M Jasmin is absolutely gorgeous.....

My first love from this brand was Oud Vendome. It has Oud in its name but it has no Oud presence. Perhaps it acts as a fixative agent. It’s gorgeous! Already finished a bottle of it and half though the second one

Oh they’re quite different, to me. RC is delicate, pretty. RB is RED and deep/heavy.

I honestly think they’re equally as great. Whatever differences I detect between an old vs brand new bottle is due to aging/oxidation of the old bottle. This perfume does get deeper and stronger over time. I’d say most of the perfumes from this line at least.

I fell in love with the original when I received it as a gift in 1991. I am currently waiting on a new bottle. This is a gorgeous fragrance and beautifully complicated and memorable.

Interesting. I will check if it's available at the local LV's boutique. I am guessing from your description that this is a scent that is designed for the full wear olfactory experience and not to wow with the top notes only The bottle effect is interesting..I've never noticed that.

Interesting pick... I just got a decant of this recently, randomly. I'll need to wear it now :-). You MAY like the Mastic note actually so I would suggest trying to explore that either as perfume or in other ways. It's a sort of minty piney resin that you can buy as little rocks and chew on them as a sort of gum, or you can buy a mastic liquor. I have a feeling you might like it if you like this perfume.

Beautiful and sincere, thank you Sebastian. I adore this perfume. I think it is my favourite citrus. I love that it wasn't what I expected. It's a gorgeous delicately sweet, juicy, tangy combination with just a pinch of crisp powdered white flower petals (ldn is not a powdery or dry scent in the least). I always feel I am smelling ripe fruits in an orchard when I immerse myself in a mist of l'eau de Neroli

In the corner of my world winter is never really a thing it is hot and hot year-round but despite that I still love wearing spicy and sweet scent the kind of scent that many would probably advice against wearing in such a high heat and I still enjoy it especially at home but I do feel slightly more self concious about it when I'm wearing it out, worrying if I'm killing the person that is sitting next to me on the bus right now so I don't really wear those out anymore 😅

Happy you reviewed this one. It is beautiful, but probably the most unusual perfume in a collection of very unusual perfumes. A chocolate chypre?! Lots of the Cartier exclusives seem to go in and out of availability depending on geography.

Couldn’t agree more! “The most unusual perfume in a collection of very unusual perfumes.” This collection is more “niche” than all niche perfumes I’ve smelled in the last couple years. Criminally underrated. It took me a bit to come around this actually, I had a hard time understanding it in the beginning and that’s where the samples came in.
