Impromptu SLOW BIKE tour of Newport Beach, CA with our NEW FRIENDS! A PERFECT morning on a bicycle!

SURF'S UP! Following an Orange County book event the night before with author Melissa Broder and podcaster Barbara DeMarco Barrett, Maggie and I had dinner with a few local authors including Maggie's friend Candi and her husband Tony. At dinner, Tony, a true local, checked the surf report for the next morning and saw favorable conditions, so they offered to meet us for a morning bicycle tour of the area! Pretty sure it was the slowest ride of my life, but also one of the best! But the best part was making new friends! 📖🚲🏄🏽‍♂️

I love visiting CA. I love riding bikes. I like old bikes, I like new bikes, but the classic beach cruiser is a bike I don't like. But I liked the video and those bicycles sure are making people happy! 🙂

This video proves that you don’t need an expensive bike or a perfectly running bike to have fun on a bike. Just a good company and a perfect weather. Superb location is nice but is not required. This reminds me of the time when my wife and I stayed at a rental on Bora Bora and the owner had bikes that looked like the ones in the video. Rusty, neglected. Nonetheless we had a ton of fun on those bikes and brought back lifetime memories.

I been wishing i lived on the coast lately. I finished an amazing cruiser recently and could really go for some long flat rides!! That green cruiser is a GREAT beach ride!!!

You look and sound so relaxed! This is my neck of the woods, or close enough. The bike path/boardwalk continues along the beach north of there for about 12 miles. You can open it up, go faster there, except in the areas near the pier. It's a great ride. Glad you got the beautiful weather we've had since the last rain.

that rust on the bikes is from just the sea air, no need getting it in the water tho that is a faster way to rust them. newport, amazing what a couple million dollars won't buy you.....there used to be a real cool bike shop, very similar to yours around the corner from where you started called Chicago bike. Tony was a good guy
