This improv activity is a good one to warm up a big room and bring out the best in everyone there. It's easy to lead and does not require a deep debrief.

Here is what Calvin says about developing this game:
In terms of the origin of the exercise, it was developed from theater games of walking around the room and stopping in front of a partner to make eye contact, or singing to that person, or being a character. Instead, it's creating a backstory and intentional greeting. Don't believe it was an actual exercise that was taught to me, but certainly created from a fusion of exercises.
