Mostly because a lot of cast members got their start there, where it's improv or stand-up comedy (though they've also added people who do online videos, since Andy Samberg and his friends at Lonely Island became the first and most successful).

A lot of people are saying this sketch isn't funny so I feel like very few people here have actually watched live improv shows. The good ones are great and the bad ones are exactly like this sketch right down to the creepy audience volunteer who makes everyone more uncomfortable and the plastered on smiles from the improvisers as they try and work around it. Good sketch imo.

She's never even played a lead role in a feature length film. And keep in mind that there have been so many talented SNL sketch artists that failed to make a career of film. Everyone assumed Dana Carvey would be a HUGE film star, didn't quite pan out.

This is so eerily accurate. Kate really nailed Robert. Right down to the facial tics and his creepy raspy voice. "I have black eyes." 🦈👀 Yes, yes you do, Bobby. 😱 Reminds me of demon eyes on Supernatural. Also very accurate.

Kate is amazing! I was part of an improv group (we mostly did Ren faires). But we did not do skits based on audience members lives, though they could give us suggestions. I kinda miss it, honestly. It was fun.

I appreciate the Wegmans reference ar 1:50. Wegmans is also used as the breakroom food brand in The Office. Best grocery store in the country!
