Happy April Fool's! Not a joke video - content starts at 0:49. This video is about heart rate variability's connection with willpower.

The Book I mention: "The Willpower Instinct" (amzn.to/2nscOip)
emWave2 is quite pricey but has been a reliable HRV Monitor: ( amzn.to/2mZZhTL)
I have been using this for a while now just to improve stress and somewhat measure whether or not my meditation practice is being effective. I didn't make the connection between HRV and willpower until reading Kelly McGonigal's book

this supposed to be praise? strange praise. i'd say this channel makes me want to explore everything and never stop. that i consider praise. p.s. if you had to? what kind of situation that'd be? life prison sentence with one yt channel for life? you'd quickly reconsider. basically you don't have to. and never will. that hypothetical is absurd. and the number of likes it has is disconcerting.

i used this breathing technique to DESTROY my blackouts during an exam last year. i looked at that sheet and started realizing that my heart was going in an insane rate. I practiced the mentioned technique beforehand in preparation for the exam. a few breaths later i was back to normal and was able to go on. it was the first time in my life that i could go through an exam an be fearless.

What I've Learned I agree...many kids missed out a lot because they are not taught the basic knowledge for them to excel or maximize their potential at a young age. Parents didn't know any better, either so they couldn't teach what they don't know. I suggest you deepen your mission by being a speaker in school or parenting seminars and help more people understand themselves and each of their family members. Hope you can send in your email address. You can help a lot of youth with your experience in games, the power of neuro science in a person's life. I appreciate science better now. :)

hello What I've Learned ! I'm a music teacher in training in Chile and I'm working just about to solve what you just said! I love your channel, because of your easy to follow perspective of trying to improve ones habits by shifting little things in the simplest way possible. I have been trying to implement your advices in my every day routine, although I keep failing in consistency, but yet I can feel and see improvement :) I would love if you can share with me more bibliography that you think to be useful to understand the ways and the benefits of meditation, breathing techniques or anything that you find relevant. my thesis is about how can the music teacher and pupils benefits from a methodical implementation of meditative breathing, and how it would affect the pupils capabilities of perceiving pulse and rhythm. my goal is to develop an easy way to implement mindfulness practises in public schools here in Chile, and I think that the music class, and music in general can be a powerful tool to educate and re educate people mind's and behavior, aiming for a better social sustainability way, due to its capabilities to influence the "three layers" of the human brain. So if you think that you can help me and if you find this a bit interesting, then please I would love to hear from you! I'm sure you can be a huge help for me. Now keep enjoying your game, I'm sure u've earned it :) byee

Meditation does not improve an ADHD brain. But elements of it do. In general it is wasteful to meditate when you are ADHD. But learning to induce the flow state itself is hyper useful.

Learn the 100 most common words of that language, then start reading easy books. Stories for Children for example, or comics. You automaticly will get a feel for grammatic and meaning of words. Basicly you want to immerse yourself in that language. I've learned english that way, and I was a terrible student in my english class. :D
@juliar8072
@juliar8072 7 жыл бұрын
That's a nice method, but I would suggest some changes. I find that 100 or even 500 words are not quite enough to understand children books. What is much easier to understand though are cartoons, where not only do you have the context of conversations, but you can also deduct meaning of words absolutely foreign to you from what you see. This is the way I started learning Spanish but I must say that simply watching or reading is not enough. You have to be actively engaged with what you want to learn in order to learn effectively. That's what I think at least :)

I just want to say that you have profoundly changed my life for the better. I have ME/CFS and while there is no cure, I have adopted a lot of lifestyle changes based on your thorough and compelling research. My symptoms are more manageable now since doing keto, OMAD, meditation, cold showers, increasing salt intake and so on. I was someone who was indifferent to food because I found it so confusing, I didn't know anything about nutrition. Now I am passionate about cooking, never would have imagined I'd say that. I am healing my body with food and while I still battle fatigue I otherwise feel physically and mentally better than ever before. Thanks for being the rare voice of reason online. I couldn't do all that research alone.

I love your video essay style bro! (I think that’s what they are called. 🤷🏾‍♂️) The retro Simpson episodes and Matrix film references are a nice touch too. 👌🏾
