I live in the US. It's so irritating if you eat out, most restaurants use unhealthy oil. Or olive oil mix with unhealthy oil. No matter how expensive the restaurant is.

The way Abraham broke his fast was pretty irresponsible. After a fast this long, he should have eaten a lighter/simpler meal (like broth for instance) to avoid the potential of passing out.

The real question is what you do after you stop the fasting? How often do you eat after that and for how long? When do you start another 3,5,7 days fasting again?

Ray Peat hates fasting, what do you think about his counter arguments? I know he has some cooky views but he's interesting.
@rpearce25Күн бұрын
This is not an argument in either direction, but just because it was used as a mechanical lubricant doesn't mean it's harmful to our health, that's a false equivalence.

Well imo it gets harder the lower body fat % you have. Personally after 60hrs at sub 15% body fat it gets hard to even walk, cant stand up without getting mega dizzy(even with enough water) And sleep goes from 8ish hours to 5 - 6. Sometimes less..

I did a 40-Days/40-Nights water fast in 2023. I got my energy back on the evening of Day 3. Also, my hunger went away. My blood glucose stabilized at 70. David Blaine lost muscle because he was already lean. If it were someone with a lot of bodyfat like me, you won't lose any muscle. I lost 50lbs.

weight is purely thermodynamics, you eat 3000 cals, if your maintenance is 2000, you have the surplus of 1000 calories, 1 pound of fat is about 3500 calories above your maintenance, if its 2000, and you eat 5500, you gain 1 pound of fat, its not the oils, its the fact that people are eating more.

None of this should be surprising when you consider that our ancestors all ate meat going back tens of millions of years to long before they could be considered human. Our closest relatives, chimpanzees, all eat meat as did all their ancestors going back millions of years to our common ancestors with them - who ate meat. The reason why we have large brains, language, complex social structures, tool making, the ability to accurately throw things like no other animal can, and many other things about us are all about the hunting and killing of animals for food. We even headed animals much earlier than we grew crops.
