Just a tip for the rest of us: 1) say you changed into manual 1/50. 2) You set iso to the lowest value 3) and start putting the Nd filters. You want the filter that gets you to EV 0.0 which you can see on the screen. 4) If it's not achievable and the next ND makes EV jump a lot, you can then pump iso from 50 to say 100. 5) You want to be between +0.3 and -0.3. I prefer -0.3 because you have more details and you can brighten it later.

That's when you shoot in 24p, correct? Wouldn't it be better to shoot in 30p and 1/60, then downconvert to 24p once the edit is finished in the editing software?
@LanguageHelp7 ай бұрын
@@romanmenyhart it depends where you live. As far as I know, in the us, you are correct. 30p is the norm. In Europe, it is not.

Thanks for the video I've just received my DJ Osmo pocket three and I can't wait to use it today. Thank you for the videos. I've had a look at some of the other stuff as well and really useful information. I'm a professional photographer so I'm really good with a normal camera but really haven't used a lot of video and one of the things that put me off video was carrying around a big camera like a mirror camera or a DSLR to do video. That's the reason I got this camera is it small light and pocketable.

its informative but I think it goes against what the camera is all about and will eventually do more harm than good. This camera is about ease of shooting but more importantly... moving around. With manual settings eventually the video shoot will move from a brighter scene (a sunny lake) to a darker scene (dense forest behind you) and its going to ruin the image. Factor in that there is a risk of the photographer not noticing the gimbal isnt properly aimed... its just way too many things to keep track of all at once, for minimal benefit.

Hi Connor thanks for putting out this video its a great guide. I wanted to get your input on one thing if possible. ive seen many people dial down the sharpness and noise reduction in the camera settings and wanted to get your take on that. personally ive always struggled with sharpening in post because I have a tenancy of over sharpening so ive left the settings in the camera to its default but would love to get your input on that and your process? thanks!

With 10 bit and adjust the ev I would suggest you no longer need nd filters with 8 but yes 10 bit no - you have so much more colour to work with
@connormccaskill9 ай бұрын
Well, the ND isn’t doing anything for color, it’s only affecting your exposure. So ND are definitely still important and useful when recording in 10 bit. It is specifically for keeping your shutter speed at the correct angle
