Have just seen your website and I must say you have made it quite better. Everything is clearly mentioned. Earlier, I got confused but now it's quite explicit.

My sir, Big help Could you please tell me are these Sentences grammatically correct? Which are correct sentences? 1)I read news in the newspaper. 2)I read news on the newspaper. 3)I studied the grammar on a english book. 4)I studied the grammar in a english book. 5)I read the news on Internet 6)iread the news in Internet
@shubhigupta9448
@shubhigupta9448 3 жыл бұрын
Hi Mifras, In your first sentence, It's more than enough to say -"I read newspaper". You don't need to mention categorically that you read news in 'newspaper', because they carry nothing but news. So it's obvious that you must be reading some news. Write your second sentence this way - "I studied English grammar in a book." For third - " I read the news on Internet". That sounds correct.

I think you should come clean with your US fans. They should not be surprised if they visit this country and venture away from the capital and the south- east to be unable to understand what is said to them There are a large number of local accents with different. Re words in use . E.g. Yorkshire, birmingham , Devon Cornwall . Try telling a Scotsman that he speaks standard English and hear the diatribe about Sasenachs (I.e. the bloody English) and the Way they speak! 9:57

Although it's not a problem related to stress, these are very confusing! This is called a homophone (words that are pronounced the same but mean different things with different spellings). Try to separate the meanings and practice each one in different contexts. You'll soon be able to keep the meanings separate. I'm sure you have some homophones in your language too :)
