Man this video resonated with me in many ways. Thank you so much! I just turned 46. My Mother died when I was 10. She made me a cassette of her singing “You Are My Sunshine” a few weeks before she died. She started me playing piano at 2 and was my biggest supporter in music. About to dive in to recording a record on my own on top of a full time career. Just about the only thing that keeps me moving is my commitment to working out and my overall health now more than ever. We need you for another 45.5 years at least man. Glad you’re taking a little time to appreciate how incredibly blessed we are to be in this human experience together, AND get to make music. Pretty amazing. Also, just got word that my In Stereo “voynal” is shipping out soon! Very excited for that.

At the risk of giving you TMI, I’ve got a couple tips for your colonoscopy. First, ask them for the smaller laxative. There are two versions and one is literally a gallon. It’s a lot of liquid and it’s tough to force it down. The other option (which I didn’t know was a thing until it was too late) is 12 ounces. It’s slightly more expensive so they don’t usually recommend it but it’s well worth it. Second tip, if you don’t want anesthesia you don’t need it. That stuff really messes people up sometimes so I went completely anesthesia free. They tried so hard to sell me on it and I told them to screw off.

Thanks for the peek into your life, Guthrie! 👍 You're exactly right: ya gotta just plug away at whatever ya love! Take care of yourself, so you can last a long time. Oh, boy, a colonoscopy. Hey, nice licks starting out there, with "You are my sunshine." Love it! 👍 You are exactly correct about your "frameworks.'" That's a good way of describing everything, especially how to find your way around the fretboard. For whatever reason, I just get it. It's course, that doesn't mean I can play like you! No, I'm still working on that, I can play ok, but I've got a loooong way to go to be able to "match licks" with YOU! U understanding all all that guitar shit is easy for me, so I can't understand why some ppl make it so complicated! Maybe some people just get tangled up in "lingo." Or maybe they just use lingo to make you think they know something when they really don't. IDK! One thing I DO know is that some ppl just don't like to THINK! No shit, they'll go through amazing mental gymnastics...just to avoid THINKING! Does that make sense?! Hell no. I think, with ppl like that, they just don't want anyone directing their thinking. Cuz they ARE thinking, just not about the right things! And the more you try to "guide" them to understand something...the more they RESIST! Just don't even waste your time on ppl like that. Anyway, keep up the excellent...uh, work? No...fun? Yeah...uh, life? YES! => Keep up the excellent LIFE! 👍👍👍 PS: Love the "arrogant rooster" pic in the newsletter!

Yea buddy, keep an eye on the blood pressure as long as it's manageable with diet, exercise etc. do what you need to do to keep it under control......... don't let it get away from you. Have gotten more mileage out of "It's just music friends. Nobody's going to get hurt here" than I can tell you. Fun. An idea: I know all the basics you talk about (shapes, arpeggios, pentatonics, scales) but you move so fast when you're free wheeling I just can't follow. I'm guessing I'm not the only one. How about a KZbin session every so often called "Slow Class" where you really slow it down. I mean like, painfully slow for you. You're a tried and true thoroughbred and it's great.
