Improve Your Jeeps Ride: Installing MetalCloak Rear Adjustable Upper and Lower Control Arms

In this video i install our new metal cloak rear control arms and geometry correction brackets, they will bring the geometry after the lift back closer to stock with the added benefit of the strength of the dom tubing, adjustability if needed, and the flexibility of the joint.

Thanks, they are great products, I have been through alot of trails since I installed them and ground clearance has never been an issue but i guess it depends on where you wheel and if your try to navigate over alot of off camber high rock ledges and outcroppings but from what I have done I have had no issues and no regrets! @@FischerJeepAdventures they're definitely great. You bet, by the way, saw your running Synergy stuff.. check the adjusters! In my experience they're crap, ended up changing out my Synergy track bar, tie rod and drag link.. all were loosely spinning even after multiple fixes and overtorquing.

Nice install video. I’ve been eyeing these brackets for my jk. Metalcloak says you can’t run the stock control arms on them, but did you end up adjusting your control arms to factory length? Not sure I’m ready to drop $1k on the full kit at the moment.

Thanks, and yes we used the stock control arm length to set the length of the adjustable control arms, the true benefit in them is of course the strength and adjustability but its really the joint and their ability to articulate much better than the fixed control arm, you can really tell a difference, highly recommend the set

Great question, I would stick with the combo of aev coils, metal cloak arms and correction brackets, synergy track bars, and the falcon shocks. I think a compleat system is great but for me I wanted certain attributes from each of the manufactures I chose for my particular set up, because i am heavy when loaded for an over landing trip I wanted a suspension that would articulate well, coil springs that would take the weight of my set up but not beat me up when unloaded, and a shock setup that stayed cool and responsive, Based on all the miles I have done off-road so far I am happy with the set up, thanks for the question and thanks for checking out the channel

Thanks for the question in my opinion it made the ride smoother, I think the duroflex joints allow the suspension to move in a more smooth fashion which like I said makes for a better ride. Well worth the money, they really shine once you get off the pavement! Hope that answers your question.

Nice Video and Nice job. Did you have any issue drilling that 9/16" hole? Did end up going into the frame?

Thanks, no issues drilling the hole once you have everything lined up, it does not end up going into the frame, once you get through the frame side of the bracket you have to stop or you will end up in the frame, not hard just take your time if your going to install them. @@FischerJeepAdventures Thanks! I think I was looking at where the flag nut for the lower CA was installed incorrectly. I am straightened out now. I think your the only one with a JL review/install that I have found. I as well see you had to drill a hole on the bottom of the stock skid which was not in the instructions either. No big deal, but they could make that more clear.

Not to bother you again, but the lengths of the CA's in the instructions can't be right. What did you end up at, stock length? I went with stock length but it still pushed the axle back about an inch from where it was before with my Accutune 2.5" lift and no correction brackets. Thanks!

Thanks, since i also installed the metal cloak geometry correction brackets, the upper arms we set at the factory spec 20 inches to start, after all the measuring and double measuring i settled at 20.5 inches and that gave me the proper castor angle i needed on my jeep, hope that helps

I just got the front drop bracket from Metalcloak. After installation how do you like the total kit?

Matthew, congrats, i am really happy so far, i put 200 road miles on since i installed everything, the jeep tracks straight, rides smooth, and no vibrations at all. You can feel its not as stiff as with the stock setup, i thinks thats all due to the duroflex joint, I am excited to spend some time offroad to see how everything helps to keep the tires planted as i get off camber on the trails.

I am running 35 patagonia MTs, but could easily run 37’s if I wanted, there is plenty of wheel well room and suspension travel space for them

@@FischerJeepAdventures I actually just ordered the Game Changer 2.5 lift kit, DuroSpring replacement bump stops, rear control arm correction bracket, front coil correction pads. I’ll be running 35 Nitto Ridge Grapplers. So I’m excited to see how everything comes together once installed.

@@FischerJeepAdventures Thanks! I ordered certain things based on some of the videos I saw in terms of minor issues people experienced. I figured just order everything upfront and install it at the same time to avoid going back and making corrections.

I think you will be happy with that plan! Installs are pretty straight forward, make sure you take suspension measurements before the changes and then measure from those same reference points once you install everything to get everything in the right place!

The ride on the rubicon with the aev suspension has always been pretty good, where the control arms really made a difference is in the suspensions articulation and thus keeping traction in uneven terrain much better than before which also served to limiting the body roll as you go over stuff, their joint tech is awesome, and i would buy them again, highly recommend their products
