I just want you to know that you've been really inspiring. I don't know why but something clicked while watching your videos. About 16ish years ago I started silversmithing and I loved it. As my skills increased, I began making small pieces for gifts and as I got better I started to sell them to people I knew so they could gift them. Everything I did was self taught and there weren't youtube videos back then. I got to the point of setting up a company, finding a shared space, and starting to produce more while working a full time job to pay bills and a part time to support my then hobby. The day I got my companies logo back I was extremely excited and then that was the day my dad died. Then, both my grand parents died within an few months and my life fell apart. I never did get that studio fully operational. I stuffed everything jewlery related away in 2 of those plastic storage totes and lugged those around for years through cross country moves, marriage, and kids. A few years ago I finally got rid of it all when I had to decide between space for family stuff and those bins I hadn't opened in years. I don't know how I found you channel but it really made me wish I hadn't gotten rid of any of it. It was relatively cheap stuff like a no brand name flex shaft but it represented something that I loved to do. I was saving up for a few unnecessary upgrades to my truck but I decided to go another route and set up a studio for myself. I've ordered about 90% of what I could need to accomplish anything by hand at least. I Won't be getting an acetylene setup because young kids and unstable gasses don't mix but by this time next month I should have a few pieces done. Thank you.

Honestly regardless of price these Nano blades are absolutely fantastic, I’ve tired them all super pike, Antelope, Herkules, Glardon etc and these are by far the best, I have used them to cut O1 tool steel which is not gonna work with almost any other blade and these are priced good too, I find they are a little stiffer then some other but I’ve been able to run 8/0 aggressively and not snap blades every two seconds as I am a watchmaker so I am often in need of super fine blades, only other blade I like is Herkules because they make 10/0 but it’s probably one of the most difficult things to use in my shop, they are so fine they brake just looking at them sometimes haha

This is great. Thank you so much for your videos. I'm trying to combine this and your mountain range video to have an inner cutout of metal that matches seamlessly inside the other. The tricky part is that I don't have that inner unused area that you see in this video to drill through. I'm going to try doing it with the thinnest drill bit I find to see if that will work but I'm worried it will leave a weird circular cut. Any suggestions? Thanks again!

Hi Randy, do you have a video on how to clean up work such as your last piece? I thought about escapement files but they are still too big for small areas. I followed Andrew Berry's advice by leaving .5mm to the outside of the line design to then go in and file away to make sure you don't cut into your work piece, but that leaves a lot of filing clean up that I can't get to. Any advice would be great thank you.

I know everyone would love instant everything, but there is something about being a struggling artist that just make us think outside the box. I think I appreciate the struggle because I have been forced to be a better artist. I'm sure many will agree. Actually your wrong about there not being a law prohibiting using any federal or foreighn bank note or coin from being defaced. USC title 18 § 331 is very specific. Here's a question I just had to figure out. I ended up stripping the thumb screw threads on my saw. What can I do to stop this from happening and is there a place to find saw parts if needed?

Can you post that comment again with out the link. KZbin doesn't like then people post links and will just remove the comment so I can't see it. I only know I got the comment because I got a notification about it but I can't click on it to see it 😅 Just tell me the name of the saw frame and I can look it up.

@@GomeowCreations Oh, I didn't know that was a thing. Ok, I got a: Eclipse PS51 HSS Piercing Saw, 11-1/2" Long. I think I might have just bought a low quality saw that has zero grip. So I made that thing as tight as I could get it.

Yeah the cheap saws like that one are very hit and miss. I do suggest getting something a little better seeing if you strip out that frame it is pretty much trash. Here as some of my saw suggestions but they will depend on you budget. Also I have all of these and know they work well: 5 in German Style Sawframe - amzn.to/3BLFHgT 5 in Haymaker SawFrame - bit.ly/HaymakerSawFrame 4.25 in GreenLion Jeweler's Saw Frame - amzn.to/3zFmLyl 5 in Knew Concepts Saw Frame - amzn.to/3f4AG9p If you are looking for good blades these are the best ones I have used: NANO Jeweler's Saw Blades - bit.ly/NANOSawBlades

@@GomeowCreations Thank you for the recommendations. I'm probably going to have to save up before I purchase a new saw. For now, do you think I could get away with rigging it? The small square part of the clamp is still good and it's real easy to get a bolt and wingnut to fit the threads. I did invest in better blades though. Those are awesome.
