Use these three words to sound more sophisticated as a leader! When it comes to sounding sophisticated, the vocabulary you use plays an important role. You can either use everyday vocabulary that will make you blend in or you can elevate your leadership communication and use vocabulary that will help you sound intelligent and sophisticated. If you're an aspiring leader who wants to improve your leadership vocabulary as well as your leadership communication, I know which choice you should make!
In this video, I will teach you three words that if you incorporate in your leadership communication, they will help you to sound more sophisticated. I've included definitions, pronunciation guides, examples, and practice activities so you know how to use these words in your communication.
These words will move you away from your regular vocabulary and will help you speak like a sophisticated leader. At the end of this video, I leave you with an important warning before you start using these words.

The first word I share, "vehemently", I pronounced incorrectly. Please refer to Google pronunciation guide, as described in video, to get correct pronunciation for you.

Yes, you won’t sound classy pronouncing vehemently with emphasis on the H. Although, it was a good try.

Kara has *vehemently* explained how the *hapless* leaders out there could improve their communication and get themselves out of *onerous* situations by gaining trust with good language skills. Thank you Kara! Very good video. 😊

Great video Kara but how did you come up with these three random words? Below are 6 words that based on the issues in the world today can be actively and strategically used to convey your thoughts. Since the entire purpose of a high level vocabulary is not to look smart but more efficiently and effectively communicate using fewer words. 1. Efficacy- "the efficacy of this drug has yet to be tested" 2. Agency- " you need to take agency over your own health and your career" 3. Conflate- She conflated the three plays to produce a fresh new work 4. Extraneous- We would not consider any extraneous factors in awarding work. 5. Juxtapose- Dreams of happiness were often juxtaposed with dreams of sadness 6. Alacrity - "The alacrity with which other countries took up the idea is remarkable."

Thank you David! I collected these words over time from videos or articles I read. They stood out to me so I decided to create a video on them. The words you provided are also very good and useful at work.

@@kararonin hi Kara😊 I love your vocabulary video topic but to improve these videos I would highlight more than 3 key words and spend less time discussing each word. You spent way too much time on each word.

Usually I am saying - this is very difficult, its very good, he was very angry Can I repleace very with "Vehemently"? You know its an "onerous" job to figure out right words and then not to overdo it. Obviously, no one wants to be in a "hapless" situation while communicating effectively Thank you so much for these 3 words and also guiding that they be used sparingly

How is it that in a video about upgrading language and how to learn the pronunciation that the first word is pronounced incorrectly and not according to pronunciation google provided. It distinctly said vee-hemently not vay-hemently. I'm only asking about this because you were actually showing your audience how to avoid the problem you had. Can you explain why you didn't pronounce it like you were shown?

Amber and Vanessa disagreed vehemently during the meeting. Vehemently Amber and Vanessa disagreed during the meeting.

Correct on both sentences. For the second one, the more common usage would be, "Amber and Vanessa vehemently disagreed during the meeting", but with the right use of comma (Vehemently, Amber and Vanessa disagreed during the meeting) your version can be correct.
