I just got braces and can’t even hit an E in the staff ahhh
@Blitznn106 жыл бұрын
takes time man, I had to go through the hole braces thing for 2 years, and i recently got them off, so i have a somewhat similar problem right now xD, not as bad as you though. I can only recommend lots practicing and pushing through the pain. After a couple of weeks you will find a new way that works for you. (you will have cuts in your mouth.) I was able to get up to a G above High C with braces, so range wont be a problem when you figure it out. Best of luck to your recovery

Dang, I remember when I started with braces myself! After band class I would have the taste of blood in my upper gums! 😪 The pain went away after the calluses formed and I began to be able to hit more high notes without agony. Good luck! Hehe

Never ever ever ever use any pressure, relax as much as possible and horse when your done, get the blood back in the lips. It’s a slow process, you just have to keep at it.

Sounds like good stuff. For me, I like to start in the 7th position (1-2-3) and do some slurs ascending, especially when warming up. My favorite exercise is Bai Lin flexibilities #17. I like to work on my lip trills. I also like to hold out higher notes for a few clicks to keep a strong and relaxed endurance. Thanks for the vid.

I have kind of done the range building thing you did but I start at the bottom and just work on octaves and work my down from the C to the low G and go up from G to whatever note I can hit. so far the clearest high note I have hit that is the double Gb.

I expect you're past needing the advice as much now considering it's been 2 years but any lip slur excercises like that are always good and you can do octave glisses up as high as you can go. Basically what he did but as much as your range allows.

Hi my friend! I have a question for you. Like you, i play with the mouthpiece a litle to the right side. When i'm getting tired, i tend to push it more to the right. I'm trying hard to make it stick allways in the same zone but it's not easy. What's your tip for helping me with this?

I know this video is a little old buuut, as a trumpet player that’s trying to get better all around, this is great. But I have one question? How would I get better at double/triple tonguing? This video is great and has been helping me but I was just curious as to how you would double tongue. Right now I sound like a dying cat.

I hate to be that person, but at 1:00 3 bars from the end you put a B instead of a C for the second beat. I'm assuming it's supposed to be a C. I loved the video by the way.
