Btw, you can get film grain for free in resolve if you use it in fusion, no idea why, but works perfectly (even animated)! Just plug the film grain node between input and output and adjust the settings, done!

I like the result from an artistic standpoint. But I just want to mention that there are almost no particles in space. Which means you would have lens flare. But you wouldn't have light beams, like the ones your overlay image had. But since this is an artistic aproach, I'm totally fine. Keep it up, man.

Great tutorial! All the Davinci tutorials i find are way too comprehensive when all i want is basic lens flare, grain and colour correction. I would love another version of this tutorial for a video instead of a single image, with the lens flare tracked to the light source or something

Thanks. The problem is, that lensflare for moving footage is much harder. Then you can’t just use an overlay, but need a real plugin. And they are not super cheap

I also recommend not doing the black bars like this, because it breaks it for people watching on widescreen monitors/tv and yoy dobt need it, atleast for video, as any player will always put black bars automatically. There is a great video about this: kzbin.info/www/bejne/fmmYYpRtnaqderM (found out about this only recently myself. Otherwise great video, love your channel!

I thought I mentioned exactly that in the video. Maybe I could have explained it in more detail. I added some black bars to mine, since I just wanted to have this one image. The Windows foto viewer adds grey bars, instead of black ones. Which is why I wanted to have them "baked" into the image. But I should have pribably mention, that this normally isn't something you should do :) Thanks for the feedback!
