I was ready to abandon the split because I feel more stable in power jerk bit listening to this I’m guilty of not putting enough time into the splint. Back to the drawing board. Thanks Pope!

Started squat jerking due to sore knees and tendinitis. But this is the 2nd video suggesting staying with the split. So once my torn rotator cuff heals (next March), gonna go back to the basics.

Your info is spot on and the video work was outstanding to provide examples of your explanations. I LOVE your gym/studio. Superb pace and pausing. And did I mention you're just stunning (aside from being an amazing athlete)? Thank you for your content. I will work on centering my barbell better in the top position; I am just a beginner for Oly and love it. Making progress, slowly and getting more mobile at end of range every session.

Very insightful. I didn’t realize it’d take that long to get comfortable doing split jerks. Question - do we use our dominant foot to step forward or backward? I’m still fairly new and getting the feel of it.
@ljs15092 жыл бұрын
usually dominant foot leads. it depends person to person but 90 percent leads with dominant foot

Maybe y'd a technique vlog of how to avoid to push shoulder forward. Cause I know this is a common mistake and I always try to concentrate on not to push 'em forward and fix 'em back, but hopefully y've some tips how to fix 'em.

Your hamstrings are so toned and powerful. Do weightlifters have some specific training for calves? Are they even stressed during lifting?
@kennethsteelhammer5 жыл бұрын
At least in powerlifting calves are good to have for stability:)
@pile3335 жыл бұрын
@@kennethsteelhammer Sure. I guess they might be the leg muscles less exposed to potential injuries.

Can you talk about the timing of the jerk if you make another video on it? My elbows always bounces every time I split jerk and I think it’s due to the timing

Olympic Weigthlifting is very hard on your joints and connective tissue. All that jerking and heaving is going to take its toll. Why not just do regular bodybuilding style training using medium heavy weights moved at much slower speed? I cant see doing this kind of training in your forties and beyond.

Like benching 2 plates in 3x10 for year after a year, just like a proper gym bro?
