Hey I was just looking into the oil dilution problems Honda is having and its only in the 1.5L turbo engines. 2017 Honda Accord was the last year they used the 2.4L K24 engines so most likely you should be good. Im super tempted to buy a 2017 Accord with low miles but the new Camrys seem to be nearly bulletproof. Ahh decisions decisions lol.
@DIYAutoworksNG9 ай бұрын
Yea, I also heard it's the 1.5L turbos. Doesn't seem to affect the 2.0L turbo. Decisions, decisions 😅😅😅. The dual injection in the Toyota is desirable.

Do you think this would be good as a preventative to do once in a while? I have an Audi with 3.2 V6 FSI engine (GDI) and it sees the redline everyday. I don't have engine knock issues I think, even when lugging the engine hard, like when I decided to test how far low I could push my 6th gear with cruise control and apparently I could drive 47km/h (29mph) at idle in 6th gear though considering oil pressure might be low I never did that again. Also used the same amount of fuel as 5th gear at the same speed. Still it did not knock at such a high load. For fuel I mostly use RON98 ethanolfree from shell and sometimes throw in "Wynn's Extreme Injector Cleaner" specifically since it has PEA (10-25% according to product data sheet). The car in question has 214k miles on it and has got walnut blasting on the valves recently incase that matters. You mentioned that Liqui Moly Valve Clean worked great and did not have PEA, which is why I am asking if this might be better for preventative maintenance than something more expensive that contains PEA (I see the Liqui Moly Valve Clean for 7 bucks while the PEA cleaner I used regularly was almost 20 bucks a bottle!). EDIT: added mph speed to the km/h speed.

Thanks for the long read. Enjoyed your process. Liqui Moly is cheaper, but it won't clean your injectors; that's the downside. If you redline a lot and use RON98, my guess is that you won't really have so much buildup. Walnut blasting is great! I've heard good things of that Wynns and may give it a try in the future. If I'm you, I won't change a thing. I might just get one of those cheap borescopes (usually less than 20quid) for the sake of curiosity to see how much buildup there is. Cheers!

@@DIYAutoworksNG Thank you for your quick reply! I was hoping it would work as an all-round cleaner including cleaning the injectors. Oh well. On a different note, have you ever tried Liqui Moly Speed Tec? I have seen quite some positive reviews on Amazon but fail to see how and why it would work.

Thank you for all you do ! Would this work well for a 2006 accord ? And should I use this on a full tank or half ? Do you have a video on usage directions And do you have any ideas where I can get this in Nigeria without importing.
@DIYAutoworksNG9 ай бұрын
Thanks! Yes, it would work. Even better you can get the injector cleaner by Liqui Moly to address the injectors too. See the video I did on using Liqui Moly for 1 month. You will need to add it to a couple tanks for the best result. Try Konga or Jumia.

Hi, can i ask about what fuel that you fill your tank, cause in Thailand we use gasohol(Ethanol10%) not gasoline And your car it's direct injection right? Because in Thailand accord it's port injection seems to if port inj it's will help clean intake valve too. For long term use now i use 24 bottles for those kinds. And Hello from Thailand.
@DIYAutoworksNG8 ай бұрын
Good to hear from you! It's gasoline we use here, and yes, car is GDI. I'm aware the Accord kept port injection in certain regions; at least you won't have very dirty intake valves. You certainly break my record with 24 bottles! 😃

Y cual de todos es el mejor?
@DIYAutoworksNGАй бұрын
It really depends on what engine you have (GDI vs MPI), how often you want to do it, will you add driving hard to the mix, access to premium fuel etc. Liqui Moly is good if you have MPI engine and can drive hard with a couple tanks. BG44K Platinum or Gumout fuel system cleaner is also good for GDI engines

Hi do i need to keep the car running until the tank is empty ,,or i can just put these and drive the car normaly?
@DIYAutoworksNG8 ай бұрын
You can drive normally. If you have a long drive coming up, that would be good time to use. As you saw, the spirited drive does help.
@Goosewaffles8 ай бұрын
Did this also clean the injectors?
@DIYAutoworksNG8 ай бұрын
It's not very clear to me from the literature. I was purely focused on combustion chamber deposits. However, they have Jectron and DIjectron specialised for injectors on manifold and GDI cars respectively.

Hi Mr. Piyke. Seasons greetings. Pls i have the error code P0420 on our beloved Honda accord 2004, I have no catalyst in place but code just came up. Pls how do i fix this?
@DIYAutoworksNG9 ай бұрын
Seasons greetings too! Code came up because you don't have catalyst. The proper way to fix it is to install one.

I have the same problem with my 2016 accord when the ac is on and the car is stopped the rpm drop and the engine virbrate but it doesn't do this all the time only sometimes. do you recommend doing this to solve the problem?
@DIYAutoworksNG8 ай бұрын
A drop in RPM is likely something else. Do you have any DTCs, is the CEL on? If not, when last did you clean the MAF sensor and throttle body? I'll start by cleaning those.

Have the exact issue w/ 2005 honda accord : sound your car makes at a stop. If I put it in neutral it stops. What could that be?
@DIYAutoworksNG9 ай бұрын
Could be same thing I had or a different drivability issue. What RPM does it sit at while doing this?
@LilyWillow229 ай бұрын
@@DIYAutoworksNG goes from 1100ish to 900ish. Then put in neutral at red light and goes to 1100ish. Otherwise drives spectacular.
@DIYAutoworksNG9 ай бұрын
1100 in Neutral sounds high. It may well be carbon buildup that's causing the knocking. If it is, dumping a good cleaner in the tank and going for a 100 mile run should bring some relief.
