I have a Question, at the Web conference Which Mine Is Thurs for CSX, do you ask questions or do they ask you questions?

They will ask questions and at the end you will be asked if you have any questions. Try to have at least 1. During your interview focus on anything you’ve done that is safety related and have a good answer to why and how you feel you will be successful with the challenging schedule 👍🏻🚂

Hey man I’m in the hiring process for NS and I’m wondering about boots will you please cover what is acceptable because it’s 100% impossible to find anything online

I may actually do a dedicated video on this but here is the basics: The boot must has a 90° heel(no flat soles), it has to have a minimum of a 6 inch rise to cover and protect your ankles, the boot has to be lace up(no Velcro, slip ins or cowboy boots), made of a waterproof leather or leather-like material. Most common brands are Timberland Pro Series, Redwings, Danners or Wolverine’s. My first pair was the Timberland Pro Series JigSaw’s. Steel toes are not required. Our instructors actually encouraged against them because of the weight and the fact that in the winter they freeze making your feet colder. The literal response about drops or protection was “you are the softest thing out here” if you get you toes run over by anything on the yard you will lose them anyway so you might as well be comfortable” 😂 Your boots main function is keeping your feet dry, warm and to support your ankles while walking on ballast and climbing on and off the equipment. Most models are slip resistant or anti slip but the tread/soles of the boot can not be leather. Hope that helps a bit👍🏻🚂
