Thanks very much for your video. I bought the 3 motor version…. also inspired by Dennis. I live in Sydney and during a trip to Melbourne, bought the Camvac. I just came across your video today. I also came across the file to print those housings, but have no printer. In the end I purchased the filters only a few days ago, after months of procrastinating and hand wringing about the postage cost,as I couldn’t find another option. They are on their way. Postage was a killer at around AU $145. 😢 The suppliers “Stockroom” in Canada are nice to deal with however. Meanwhile, yesterday I hooked it up to my new (first) thicknesser through the super dust deputy 4/5 ( like the one in your background) that I also set up yesterday, with mixed results. It was the first time I’ve tried to use anything other than a shop vac. Still learning, and desperate to improve. I also would like to build a sound box, and welcome any content on the Camvac in general, I’ve found very little content that helps. I’m hoping you’ll share your progress with the Camvac. BTW I tried to measure the air flow with the 3 motors running, but it was off the scale. Subscribed! Cheers Howard

Hi Howard, Thanks for subscribing! The postage costs was something I just couldn't get past - I think the add-on is amazing from Stockroom, great little idea. I do wish they came as standard on the camvac, or at least something you can buy as an add-on here in Australia. When you say mixed results, it wasn't picking up the chip from the thicknesser? The video for the enclosure of the camvac is coming out this weekend, and I am currently recording the cylcone box with bin - I hope to tackle the sound box / muffler soon - I have some ideas loosely based on Dennis' design, but will mix it up a little to fix my space. I measured the 2 motor version down to a 90mm PVC pipe, and it was off the scale too...my anonomometer only goes to 30m/s. Curious where you got your Camvac from? I got mine for MMVIC, curious if there are any other stockists around.

@@RichmondWoodworks Thanks for your reply. Yes! Only half the chips are caught by the bin with the cyclone. I’d quickly put everything together to run some hardwood edging for my workbench. It’s taking up floor space where my trailer normally goes, and need to complete. I’ll need to revisit the whole cyclone thing now that the jobs nearly done. That’s great news about upcoming videos, that’s exactly what I now need. Look forward to them. Yes, bought from MMVic. I think they are the sole distributor for Australia. I know you’ll want to move on with your topics, but it’s great to know that you’re doing content about the Camvac. Thanks once again for taking the time to share.

@@howardbecdove9780 It sounds like we are solving the same problem, so hopefully the videos help - or at least give a little extra motivation 😉

cheers for that, i recently purchased the twin motor camvac, adding some 63mm hose to the outlets for around 1 metre length significantly reduces noise from the exhaust. im def gonna get that print file and keep the bags and cages for backup.

Glad you found it useful! I plan to dissipate the exhaust through a muffler box to help reduce the noise, that’s coming up soon. Just waiting on some parts to arrive.

What is the original purpose of the large bag that you have now tossed? Thanks for an interesting video!! 🤓👍

The large bag stops dust getting to the motors, which are also covered by filters. It doesn’t capture the dust, the dust sits directly in the metal bin.

Hi came across your channel and am enjoying it. I have the Camvac two motor and had it for years from the uk. Where did you source this one in Australia?

They are a great little unit, I found them at (mmvic.com.au/) they seem to be the only place to stock them here.

Hey man lots of love from Türkiye, great video. Since you didn't deal with dust in this comparison I was wondering how this filter system would measure up against free flow without a filter. I can see how these machines would never be used without proper filtration but it might give you an idea of how much could be improved with better filtration.

It blows my mind that people around the world are tuning in to see me ramble on the internet. It’s a great idea! I think it would make for a really good baseline measurement.

Mate, I am in Melbourne and dont have a 3d printer. How much would it cost to print the filter brackets and send them to me?
