Improving the H0e Narrow Gauge Logging Train from Roco

There is something basically endearing about narrow gauge railways in scale 1:87. This is Roco's take on the 9 mm gauge, also known as H0e. I purchased a basic Roco start set a couple of years ago, but I found the loads a little wimpy so in this video I am upgrading it to some real timber made of bamboo skewers for barbecuing. I also weathered the rolling stock including the loco using photos from Danish narrow gauge engines as inspiration. Finally, I made a small embankment of 25 mm foam board for the train to run on for photo shoots. The idea for this video came about as I was planing a sawmill for my layout. Unfortunately there were no real narrow gauge logging railways in Denmark in the 1950s so the train is not prototypical and the video is mainly for fun. I don’t know about the relationship between Roco and Eggerbahn, but the Roco narrow gauge range has been around for decades. And it as charming as ever.
