Improving the Stock H Pattern Shifter AWD Celica ST185 GT4

The original shifter cables were tired and no longer available from Toyota. Bought what was available. I had to modify them so they would work correctly. Took them out and replaced with a custom HD Low friction set. Soooo much better. More confidence Flat Shifting. Had to go test. Lol.

Oh and seeing the ac on yours is also a inspiration ha ha ha Now that I drive home from work during the day, I'm not liking the hot weather. I took out my condenser and compressor a while back when the compressor failed on me ( the pulley fell off!)

California push-pull

I had a slight notch feeling when shifting into 2nd on my original e150f and when that trans pooped I installed a e154f and that trans does it also. It has to be my cables I'm guessing. I'll call California push pull but do you have any information I can tell them to make me a set like yours man? Like mention your bada** all-trac or name? I don't know what to get to rebuild my e154f so I need to take care of it as much as possible. Thanks and love the videos

Just call them. You’ll need to send in your old cables. They’ll use it for reference and reuse the ends

I just purchased the MR2 Heaven ones, do you think I should just return them? Is it worth the headache?

It would really suck to do all that work and it not shift correctly. Quick way do destroy your trans. Fortunately I tried it before putting it all back together.

@@alltrac101 Struggled with the mr2 heaven ones as well, i dropped em in and found out that the cable was too long not letting me enter 5/reverse, got a grinder and cut about 1.5 inches off and called a mobile welder to weld up the pieces for me and now she shifts fine, if i had a chance to do it again id say 1 inch off should do it, i wanted my shifter to lean more to the driver side and it ended up doing just that which is perfect!

@@exinhart Did you take an inch off of the transmission side or the shifter side? Also did you have to shorten both cables? Sorry for all the questions lol

@@kagman10 I took it off the shifter side while it was in the car as well. I removed my air bag ecu so I was able to angle the cable enough upwards to cut it with an grinder and the welder guy shortened it a bit more as well . 1 inch should get you stock throws but my shifter has significant slack in it still so if that’s what you’re going to for if you haven’t purchased them I’d look towards doing what pat did and getting adjustable custom set as it’s cheaper than the other mr2 heaven cables
